Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaRestaurant was closed on my first night and when open had limited options and was expensive. There is apparently a bar but this seemed to be closed the entire time I was there. Room service is very limited, and the public areas do not have a very welcoming feel. So it’s a good place to stay if you plan to dine, meet friends etc elsewhere
Good location near to Gloucester Road tube station. Charming and spacious bedroom, which was comfortable and quiet at night. Spacious elegant bathroom.

France-Hotel needs a quick renovation (keeping the style but changing some carpeting … textiles and so on) for it to keep its initial levels of comfort. -For a 5* finding the room with an empty mini bar was kind of a surprise, the bar closes very early at 22:30 rather than 00:00 or 1:00.
-Room was very spacious -Classic style of the hotel -The staff were generally very kind (Special mention night receptionist and front desk staff) -Turkish spa was great (special mention to the masseuse) hot stone treatment was great, le kalon treatment (hammam + Swedish massage) wonderful.

United KingdomWhen we went into the room it was extremely cold. When we checked the controls the heating was switched off, so we turned it on and set it to 23C. However, when we returned several hours later, the room was hardly any warmer at all, and this was on the coldest day of the year. In fact, the only place in the entire hotel that had any warmth was the corridor that led to our room.

United KingdomThe area that could have been improved upon was the furniture, as this was in keeping, but was cheap in relation to the room and building. The chairs where loose at the joints when you sat in them and the side dresser door did not close properly.
The room size was amazingly large, 800sqf. The decor was in keeping with the design of the building, which was impressive. So, many rooms in the suite and the lounge area was huge.
