Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

We were on the entrance floor and the light from the hallway lit up around the door all through the night, I managed to block it a little with a blanket but I'm a light sleeper and found it distracting. Also despite notices asking people to be quiet, a few guests returned late and woke us. This happened on both nights. I did think the price we paid was somewhat expensive, especially considering I received emails since booking with substantially lower rates.
The location is really lovely and the surrounding views very pretty. Lots of local bars and places to eat. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with plenty of space.

Having to choose what I wanted and a time for breakfast. Room was very small and a little run down down the price I paid . No mirror and lacking in plug sockets

The window curtains were inadequate to keep bright light out from building opposite.also had to keep them closed as overlooked ...nets would be useful
Single room was expectedly small but better than.most single rooms,good sized unsuite bathroom bed comfy,lighting good,very quiet.Good secure hotel and room entry system,room.perfect temperature .

There aren't many facilities, only a small bar which we did use. There are plenty of bars/restaurants nearby though.
We have stayed here a few times. The main advantage is the convenient car parking at the back of the hotel (£9 charge). The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is well priced compared to others near Clifton.

We booked a standard double room, which as others had remarked was not so big and bathroom was rather petite but all worked fine. The room was very comfortable, and high ceilings and nice view made it feel more spacious.
Location was excellent, right in the heart of Clifton but very quiet and green. Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Comfortable bed. Thank you.

We are both over 80 and so stairs are not our friends. However a phone call when booking allowed us to be put in the room accessible by the least stairs. Obviously the age of the building precluded the installation of lifts.
Good breakfast and staff helpful in choosing health related dietary options. Immaculate cleanliness. Immediate access to bus stops enabled us to get to all but one of our planned city visirs. Taxi covered the other.

Attic room meant barely a view from window unless standing on bed. I had asked to not be on the ground floor as a woman traveling alone (which hotel would not have known) but was a bit surprised to then be placed right at the top! So beware what you request...I will be. A mini fridge would be welcome. **hairdryer cord not long enough to see in mirror. Increase length or move mirror slightly would be big improvement
Quirky room layout, china cups, good Yorkshire tea provided. Warm and comfy bed. Spacious. I would stay again. Didn't have breakfast so can't speak to that.

A bit of a trek to our room at the top, but we were fairly warned when we booked, that this could be the case. We offered help with our luggage if we needed it. The double mattress felt like it had zero edge support, so you were rolling out if you slept anywhere near the edge.
Fantastic location, just across the square from lots of places to shop and eat. Surrounded by magnificent period houses and our explore along birdcage walk was beautiful. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely too. A generous check out time of 11am made our last morning a bit more relaxed, which we appreciated.

Tall elegant single-glazed windows are beautiful but rattle in the wind! The hotel is a little tired and could use some redecoration.
