The background music from breakfast to bedtime was the same Jazz, should have had a mix of smooth music, beautiful hotel but had evening meals out because of it. Also the table salt was rock salt with a spoon, not my preferred use of salt, it’s like eating egg shell with your breakfast.

Beautiful setting, very central for attractions, staff were lovely.

The food was average. I really thought It would be much better considering the quality of the hotel. We only ate at the hotel one evening and we would have eaten there both nights had the food of been better. The spa got my booking wrong so I couldn’t have the treatment I’d booked.

The food was disappointing. Standard of restaurant has gone downhill and breakfast a little disappointing for the standard of hotel. No bread rolls with Continental, sausages poor quality, no option to order poached eggs or omelette. OK but not standard expected for this level of hotel.

The service was poor. No one asked if we were ok or wanted anything. The roast lunch wasn’t great lamb was very fatty and chewy. Our wine arrived after our starters. Reception they kept blaming the clocks going forward one hour as to why our room wasn’t ready and why we didn’t have any robes for the spa. All the staff need to go on a training course to understand how to speak to guests and ensure they are happy and then the hotel would be far better

    Comfy bedrooms and lovely breakfast

The interconnecting rooms. I could hear the people next door. As I’m sure they could hear me.

The property is such a grand place. I loved the history the decor and the grounds.

The restaurant menu was quite limited and does not seem to have changed for a while. Not sure if you can but to be honest it might be better to order off the bar menu in the restaurant.

Room was a great size, bed was super comfy and breakfast was well cooked and good portions. The bar food menu was also quite reasonable

I requested a12-1pm check in which Booking.com acknowledged was ok by the hotel via an email. When we got to the hotel, they had no idea of this and claimed it was nothing to do with them although my email clearly stated that the Billesley hotel themselves had confirmed early check was ok. We then wasted almost an hour waiting for the room which was frustrating. Also the Spa facilities are a bit limited and there is no jacuzzi which is very surprising for a `Spa' hotel. The steam room is tiny and was not working well and there was not much heat/steam in there at all. Also at night time, when turning from the main road which goes into the Billesley manor, given how dark it is , there was no sign on the main road which is a bit dangerous as you have to slow right down to find the turning. Would be good to have a lit sign so customers can see when to turn.

Lovely Traditional hotel with comfy and cosy clean rooms. Outside grounds also immaculate. Breakfast and service was very good.

Bear in mind that the barn rooms are not located in the main building, where the restaurant, bar, reception, and spa are located, but in short, walking distance. During the winter, the rooms can get a bit cold, but the staff was very kind to provide us with an extra heater. The dinner was good, but not worth the money.

The staff was very kind. Very picturesque venue with beautiful interior. Beautiful library with original Shakespeare work. Cosy restaurant and well decorated spacious rooms. Nice spa facilities pool(cold water), sauna, and steam room. Stratford-upon-Avon is a short drive from the hotel.

Small hotel and dinning area and bar space reflected this. Breakfast on a time booking basis and had to wait 15 minutes following booking time. Ran out of chilled breakfast yogurts, no porridge options and hot drinks as table service not on tap will a bit of wait for them.

Breakfast was ok not exceptional as was published. Fairly standard buffet. Food cooked well, scrambled eggs a bit runny. Reception and Bar staff polite and professional. Bar prices as expected food prices better that have paid before.

Pool area was very busy so difficult to get a seat or swim properly in the pool. I don’t mind children but as there were lots of families and some stayed in the pool during the “adult only” time there was limited opportunity for a proper swim or quiet time to relax by the pool

Bar staff and dinner staff very funny and accommodating

Our room window wouldn’t close, it had been screwed open (65) I understand why in such an old building to have air flow but every passing car was heard. Along with no black out blinds the room was very light in the morning.

The staff had time to add context to any question they were asked instead of being overly busy. Always funny & quite happy.

It was a steep staircase up to the room which was tiring when pregnant, and they didn’t have lift.

Beautifully presented property. The bar and restaurant are v smart and our ‘cosy double’ was plenty big enough. Really nice bathroom, v clean. Wonderful pregnancy massage, staff in spa were v welcoming. Breakfast was nice and they catered to veggies.

The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were poor. The bathroom was sufficient, although we would have preferred a full shower rather than over the bath.

The hotel is wonderful, the property is stunning with beautiful grounds. The room was big, bed comfortable and bathroom good. The staff were super helpful and despite the kitchen closing as we arrived they arranged some food for us in the bar. Breakfast was good. We will be staying again.

Limited choice for cold breakfast . For example cheese would have been welcome. Hot breakfast either served to table or buffet depending on the day. Veggie option ( eg sausage) available on day when served but not on breakfast buffet which was strange. Room was cleaned promptly but some bed linen not changed even though obviously dirty.

Good location in countryside within easy driving distance of Stratford and other towns. Great Spa facility and swimming pool.
