The bathroom of the room next to Rm201 is right beside the head board of the bed so you weee constantly woken whenever the room next door uses the bathroom or shower also walls get thing so you could here their TV and when snoring.

Cold no heating on and no heating from the towel rail in the bathroom Cold in the bar area in the evening. Having to call on the phone when needing bar service. Would have liked a more cosy area for having evening drinks.

We took our dog, and we were so well accommodated for. Everyone was helpful, polite and friendly.

Shower control was very stiff and difficult to operate. Bar food menu was fine for one evening, but limited if staying more than one night.

Breakfast was excellent and staff very attentive to our need for gluten free food. Comfortable bed enabled a good night’s sleep.

Much more expensive than last year. Noise from next door room was annoying. Room was exceptionally small. Pillows were very hard.

The night & early morning staff were not of the quality of the more experienced staff commended above. And some of the decor in the main communal areas was looking quite tired.

There was a delightful professional male staff member who welcomed me on check-in at about 4pm on Monday 18th March. And extremely helpful and then I would also like to commend the extremely attentive, professional kind staff member at breakfast when I took it in the lounge with my dog. My room was immaculately clean and had everything I needed for my overnight stay.

We had to sit in Lounge as had our dog . The tables are low, and made eating uncomfortable. Would be nice to have choice of low or high table. Also our dog is taller than the tables, all he could see was food, but is well behaved and didn't grab any !

Breakfast choice was good, especially liked the Sunday buffet breakfast.

The only thing i would criticise is the desk in the room is quite uncomfortable to work at as the chair is too high for me to fit my legs under the desk. Everything else is great!

The staff are always good at The Birch. Jackie on reception is great, always wanting to meet my needs whether that's checking in a bit early or securing me a room on the ground floor. She is helpful, professional and lovely. There is a young man who works in the bar area (I forgot to get his name) who is excellent at customer service. I've started to use this hotel regularly now for business as it's become a home from home.

Bistro: limited menu choice, harsh lighting and quite stark. Also, large screen TV not welcome in my book. Not all bulbs in room working. No breakfast tray service although room service available at other times of the day.

Bed very comfortable. Bathroom very clean. Hotel quiet - very few guests for the two nights that I stayed. Breakfast and staff at breakfast very good. Good geographical position for East and West Sussex and Gatwick Airport. Also, for the coast. Plenty of free parking. Good rail connection direct to London in under hour.

Bar area and 'bistro' not in keeping with the rest if the building, lighting harsh for an evening meal. Food average. Not a huge choice - if you were staying longer than a week. Rooms in newer part of hotel generic of any large chain, in layout and provisions. No breakfast tray service or though you can order 'other' room service at the other end of the day. Beware of expecting too much from your stay.

Exceptionally clean room, bed linen, towels. Very comfortable bed. Very good breakfast. Staff at breakfast Exceptional. My guest (mother in law) really enjoyed her stay - which was a treat for Mother's Day.

Nothing really - all good!

Comfortable room in the old part of the hotel. Good size room, comfortable bed and warm. Plenty of variety of teas/coffees plus an ‘easy to use’ coffee machine. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Served hot selection on Saturday, buffet on Sunday. Good variety of pastries, cereals, fruit, fruit juices etc and hot items.

We ate in the bar one evening and had room service the other. The food was excellent: home cooked and well priced. The breakfast was also excellent with a wide range of choices of cooked food, pastries, fruit, cereals etc. Hotel feels well-cared for and staff were very friendly.

Both previous times we have stayed here there have been large, noisy, functions going in the main restaurant area. Although we were put in a back bedroom by the staff "to avoid the noise", the car park we overlooked was quite noisy until late at night as the guests gradually left over a period of 2-3 hours. Whilst I realise this is probably just unfortunate timing, it is a little off-putting for potential future reservations. It also affected not just the restaurant, but the bar area as well, so we had to avoid that too.

Google maps sent us down the road running beside the edge of the prooerty away from the entrance driveway. The bed was not very comfortable, so I didn't sleep well.

Hotel was quiet, beautifully furnished and clean. The breakfast had lots of choice and was tasty. The reception staff were efficient and pleasant.
