My only gripe was that the breakfast was a tad small. One small black pudding the size of 10p and one mushroom as part of the cooked breakfast.

Great shower, nice bedroom, quality supper though the lamb was delicious I was a tad surprised that I only had two pieces of lamb. Good wine selection and lovely ambience. Most staff were friendly and attentive.

We stayed in Room 8. I found the table of teas, coffees etc a little cramped and perhaps not in the most suitable area of the room. The room was a little dark - perhaps needs a bit more main lighting. The payment to Booking.com should be made more obvious, as I paid twice by mistake. However, fortunately, this was quickly put right.

All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable. Lovely shower and very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the creamy scrambled egg on toast and also the great choice of fruit.

OK it was valentine’s evening and we weren’t in the restaurant area. But bar area was so dark you couldn’t read the menu or see clearly the meal which was good

Friendly welcome and comfortable room. Bar staff friendly as were restaurant staff. Meal was very good.

This is being very picky! The room could have been a bit warmer but we borrowed a fan heater from reception so it was fine.

Dinner was delicious as was breakfast served in a 'scenic' room with very friendly service We were very grateful for a room upgrade. Thank you Creative decor throughout

An overhead light would be good. No hook on bathroom door for dressing gown, No grab handle for us old folk getting in the shower. Some help with operation of shower controls and general lighting would be good. The towel rail never switched on to air the towels.

There is nothing not to like. The bar and restaurant tend to close early (around 9 pm) which is not a problem at all, but should be noted.

The Ollerod lives up to all the positive reviews we read here. Our room was beautiful, large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and varied. The facilities are simple enough but good. Very nice bar, restaurant and walled garden areas. The hotel's location is quite off the beaten track but Beaminster is a great starting-point from which to explore all areas of Dorset, as well as being an attractive place in itself with many local walks and attractions.

A blind or curtain is needed In the bathroom, anyone in the car park can see straight into the shower! There wasn't any food available despite it being a Saturday evening.

We recently had a one night stay at The Ollerod, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good the only disappointment was that the kippers weren't available.
