No complaints, was very thankfully upgraded to on of the lodges by management! .. only small downfall, was hot water ran for 2-5 minutes then went cold, fine when grabbing a quick shower, but put a quick stop to a birthday chill in the whirlpool bath! But did let reception know possibly just a fault with boiler etc..

    Perfect place, lovely grounds.

The floorboards were pretty squeaky, and the doors banged quite loudly from other rooms/the hallway. Also the shower head sprayed water in all directions (even out of the shower block!)

Close to Durham, Our bed was comfy, nice breakfast, the bathroom was really nice as well. One particular member of staff I served us at breakfast and checked us in and out- she was lovely.

Water for bath in our lodge was only warm not hot so my wife got out quickly. We tried to run hot water again but it stayed just warm so not just if hot water runs out if not in main hotel. Also, self service breakfast has replaced ordering with staff, but little food available as most customers pounced on the new trays brought out by staff.

We’ve stayed before so know the hotel well. Had drinks in the spring sunshine outside then lovely meal on the night time. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Food wasn't exceptional for the price, the resteraunt roof fell through during dinner, no curtains in an open glass front bathroom linked to main room, very bright on a morning that woke us up. No staft available during checkout time.

    Comfy bed and great bath.

I didn’t like the layout of the room, it makes it really hard to watch tv in bed when winding down/ waking up. Even tho the tv is on a swivel holder it’s still not very comfy, also, very bad signal on tv, pillows are a bit to soft, but personal opinion on that.

I really like the privacy of the chalets

The shower room had obviously been recently upgraded ! But the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall , no towel rail , and the double hook on the bathroom door was also hanging off . Also confusion when trying to pay , meal bill , for one night dining for 3 people . Breakfast was deducted when we arrived , but we were asked to pay again . You have a strange method of showing charges on final invoice , still not sure whether we have been charged twice for one breakfast .

The restaurant was lovely , nice atmosphere , good food , friendly service .

No complaints, it would be nice to have a fridge in the room. But that didn’t spoil our stay.

Our room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable. The freestanding bath was fabulous, it felt very luxurious. We had good meals in the bar.

I didn’t like how there wasn’t a full length mirror in the room, also as we didn’t drive the bus routes into the main town were not available, this added extra cost for taxis.

The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom was especially a great feature, my partner was so relaxed in the bath. We were happy with the presentation of the room, and the add on for my partners birthday.

Our room was cold we did complain, the duvet was very thin we did complain and the hotel did apologise and discount the room the rest of the parties room were warm, no heating in the bathroom which was disappointing and made a cold exit from the shower and no lifts, the top floor is accessed by a very narrow steep setof stairs not great for those with balance and joint problems.

Good location, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are comfortable and good va,ue for money. Plenty of car parking and good access to the motorway. Breakfast was good and cooked to order, the buffet for the event we attended at the hotel was good and plenty of it. The catered for coeliacs which was very welcome staff were great and understood the concerns and requirements.
