Very bright outside lights shone into my room all night. Blackout blinds/lining would have made it easier to sleep.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean accommodation. We’re flexible when I asked about the possibility of a slightly earlier check in as I wanted to arrive on time for a family event. Great breakfast!

We were a family with a child. Unfortunately you can’t use the pool any time if you have a child. You can only use it between 5pm-7pm… exactly when kids want to eat dinner. Therefore we wouldn’t stay as a family again as we didn’t know this until after we booked and had no cancellation!!

Tables could have been cleaned after clearing as a lot had debris on them from people who had since left the area.

Room was very tidy and spotless. Good nights sleep and very quiet. Shower was powerful so able to have a good shower. Hotel was well laid out and the bar area was pleasant.

Staff on the weekend were pretty much useless. Went to eat in the restaurant on Friday evening to turned away being told they were fully booked and not taking bookings. Fair enough we thought and ordered Pizza from the bar. We were charged £3 per topping when the printed menu said £2. Repeated the choices to two different people and still didn't get the correct choices. After we finally got the Pizza and refund for the overcharge, which is obviously deliberate, because stored in the till pricing. We had to clear several tables to get a cleanish one as no one was doing that job, although only us and two other people were in the bar area so not busy. Pizza was good we ate in the bar opposite the restaurant. Not one person walked into or out of the restaurant during our three hours being sat in the bar. The girl that told us they were fully booked was walking around and chatting to another member of staff. Also to be woken up at 2:30 in the morning with drunks banging on every door shows a lack of security for the other guests. The general manager needs to get a grip and quickly of the staff and facilities.

This was our 2nd trip to the hotel and joked about hoping the bar staff have improved which we found out wasn’t the case. The bar staff are young and hopeless just all need re training. I told one person 3 times to stop holding the top of my glass. Their finger was literally on the top from where you sip. They’re all nice people but kept calling me mate too which isn’t very professional.

It’s cheap and comfy with a good spa and restaurant.

The steam room wasn’t working. I expect that there will be a body lotion inside the room but there wasn’t, but if you go to the customer’s toilet on the ground floor, you will find three lotions their. The tea cups were left with the mark of tea in it but when I washed it it’s gone.

The bed Very old, creaky and hard. There was also a double sized mattress topper on a king sized bed causing even more discomfort with the ridges. Room 128

The overall setting

No gluten free food options after 10pm. Perhaps offer some kind of snack box with some GF crackers and cheese. Being telephoned at 11.01 while leaving the room to be reminded of time to check out. At least give people 5 minutes :-)……. Lawn mower was super noisy so very difficult to have online work meeting (can’t be helped I suppose). Perhaps some newer more comfy pillows would be good but that’s a personal preference.
