Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe hotel is in much need of a revamp. VERY DATED It felt like my granny's house 20 years ago. Nothing modern at all. Nothing like the website pictures at all.Sorry, there was WiFi...paint work was poor, decor awful, furniture plenty off but very dark and dated. Beds miss matched, and curtains didn't reach the window sills properly, so lots of light came in. Windows of poor quality as all noise travelled through very easily. Carpets felt and looked dirty. Able to hear other residents very clearly. I didn't know until after I booked that it was pet friendly which I didn't like but went with it and actually the animals weren't a problem as such but hairs and smell i didn't like. We didn't eat in the hotel for this reason. We were only at the end of the corridor from reception, but no phone was available for contact with reception. The key fob was a piece of wood, so we had to leave at reception as it was too big to carry with us. All windows in doors were very dirty with hand marks, etc, which was a shame as I felt this was an easy clean and the 1st thing I noticed on entry. The luggage storage room was just stuffed full of mess. I was glad I didn't have to leave my bag there. On 1 morning, there was an open door to another room across from us (15, i think), and our hearts fell as this room had a major face lift and looked really nice. It's much needed the rest of the way through.
IT WAS CLEAN. The fact that I was offered and able to pay for an early check-in. 12pm instead of 3 pm, but we arrived at 9 am due to early flight times to drop our bags in and were able to check in then as our room was ready. Staff were pleasant/helpful. We didn't pay much for 3 people for 2 nights, and due to my health, they were able to fit us into a ground floor room. Because our room/beds were clean and we were on a last-minute weekend, we made do. I definitely would not be returning for another stay unless major changes happen. Prices in the bar were reasonable. Good bus links to city centre.

United KingdomThe heaters didn't work (didn't report this because luckily we didn't need them). Lighting in the room was terrible, it was dark and no main light available in the main area. The room was tired and had some areas of the decor needs attention. The toilet seat was wonky, fine once you were aware but if you sat on it without knowing you felt like you were going to fall off.
The staff are always very welcoming, the lunch and breakfast were excellent, we both had a good nights sleep. So all basic bases were covered well.

IrelandWe had a superior room which was not worth the money. The mattress on the bed badly needs replacing. The rest of our party’s accommodation of double rooms much better value. Hotel could do with renovation and a good bit of maintenance
The bed linen and towels good. The night staff Menna, was very pleasant and accommodating. The house keeping staff were pleasant and efficient. One of our party left an item of jewelry behind in their room and we were notified straight away which was very impressive

United KingdomNoise from road traffic at the front of the property was bad and made it difficult to sleep. on a previous stay we had a room at the rear of the hotel which was a lot quieter.

United KingdomRoom was very tired! Everything clean but really dated and basic. Carpet and divan base looked like they had been around a very long time. On two occasions I had to ask reception to help unlock the bedroom as there was a “technique” to unlocking the really old door lock.
Breakfast was excellent for the price. Staff at checkin and at breakfast were very accommodating and welcoming. Very helpful. Location was good, easy to get into town centre for meeting on the morning, but prices were lower as not in city centre. I had everything I needed but the room definitely needs a refurbishment soon, all lovely otherwise. Free parking, plenty hot water.

United KingdomThe room was above the bar, and with a dog it was not ideal. Noise was quiet at 12, which was good, but the dog still didn't settle. The mattress was too soft, and the slightest move was noisy. The room was too hot even after opening the window as you couldn't turn the heating down below 3.
Location from M42 is perfect and also easy to get to the NEC.

United KingdomHave to agree with many of the other comments that some areas and rooms do seem a bit tired and in need of some attention. We were first of all given the keys to a room which clearly hadn't been cleaned after the last guests, and the lady on reception was very apologetic and quickly gave us keys to an alternative room. Unfortunately this room - whilst spacious and with a very comfy bed - was an example of the above. Deep imprint of an iron mark on the carpet, tiny bits of wallpaper peeled off in a number of areas, gap of several inches on the lower bathroom door and a stale sort of odour in the bathroom.
We weren't actually going to eat here but ended up doing so and it was the experience in the restaurant that has given the hotel overall a better review. Staff were obliging and pleasant and also the food prices were very reasonable as even though it was a busy Saturday evening, several of the dishes on the menu were a third off in price and some other things discounted if you got two of them. Food was also really good as was the atmosphere. There's also a very nice reading/library area at the top of the stairs which looked cosy and had a selection of books.

United KingdomOur desserts were burnt and not sure why it was served otherwise the meal was lovely and when pointed out they happily removed the dessert from the bill. We were running late for the table reservation and didn't like how they repeated knocked on the door every 5 mins it wasn't a nice experience as I had already stated they could cancel the booking if they couldn't wait 5mins. This wasn't a great start to our dinner but didn't ruin it either. Our server was pleasant and accommodating.
The pork steak we had for our valentine's dinner was exquisite. The bath in the middle of our room was very romantic and a key feature!
