Had a wonderful roast lamb supper with all the trimmings washed down with a ice cold pint. I also sampled the desserts; sticky toffee & chocolate pudding all home made and delicious. Keith and gay were great hosts.

The breakfast was okay but could be better especially if you would be staying for longer as there's nothing else around.

The size of the room was massive as well as the bathroom, amazing view from the room. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Bathroom niggle, there was no suitable surface on which to put your wash bag down. Otherwise all ok.

Evening meal was refreshingly well prepared, cooked, and presented. All done fresh to order on site. Breakfast was also well cooked and presented. A comfortable place. Loads of space in bathroom.

Would benefit from a bit of TLC outside especially around the main entrance.

Large comfortable rooms and bathrooms although could do with an heated towel rail or radiator in the bathroom we had. Food generally good but the "curry" was a bit "iffy". Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Good base for much of Snowdonia and Powis Castle etc. Although it seemed other guests were only there for the 1 night.

Couldn't fault the hotel or it's facilities although it was a little remote but that didn't detract from our enjoying the stay.

Evening meal was very good, the lamb was superb. Had to leave before breakfast as we had an early start, the owners made sandwiches the night before and wrapped them in foil for us for our journey. Stayed here before, will almost certainly stay here again if in the area.

On arrival was greeted and welcomed inside. I stayed in the Aran Room, which was a lovely room with a Sleigh Bed, and en suite shower and bath. Nothing was any trouble, and the food and drink was excellent. Beautiful Welsh Black Steak which melted in your mouth. The owners were very friendly, and spoke to them for ages. The decor in the place is perhaps not to everyones taste, but it's definately full of character, and I would go back again, and stay more than one night the next time, as the location is central to so many areas of interest in the Snowdonia area.

Transport service was not good. We didn't have a car so we had to take a taxi. There is bus service twice a day one at 8:30 in the morning and another one at 15:00. Hotel staff was very nice but the owner of the hotel was terrible. She was rude to us didn't even smile. We asked question about anything interesting around the hotel, she even didn't care to answer the question, and on the last day of our stay we wanted to say thanks and bye for the hospitality and she tryed to avoid us and just said bye without smile.

The hotel was really nice and view from the room amazing. Every thing was amazing except the two things.

Aran Room was noisy as next to the road but also had an excruciatingly uncomfortable bed. The springs creaked with every move. Really should be changed...I notice this is not the first complaint about the bed in this room. Just go and press it or lie on it to realise it's had it! Bathroom grouting needs redoing and/or bleached clean. Toilet under rim dirty. Peanuts sold I bar out of date and meal very average. Friends stayed in the Buckley room which was quite a bit more expensive but was comfortable and quiet. Hotel bar and eating area very old fashioned and dark.

    breakfast excellent. Friendly staff.
