The mattress on our bed was very firm to say the least!! Hopefully this will improve when the refurbishment has been completed…

The hotel is having a major refurbishment but the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and they set the expectations well re the food / dining situ. The leisure facilities were great - good pool for short lane swimming and options for spa treatments. We would consider staying again once the refurb is completed.

We went to the bar in the hotel for a beer and it didn't have the best atmosphere.

Very clean and nice hotel. We stayed here as we had an early flight at East Midlands the next day and wanted a hotel somewhere in a town where we could get a taxi to a restaurant close by so this was a great location for that. We went to the Revolution Bar and the Uber cost £6.99.

Due to refurbishment coffee and tea conference facilities were in reception so long queues for them. Additional facilities should have been arranged.

Room and food were good and staff very helpful.

On arrival the full price for our stay was taken - but at that point we were not advised to open a tab by adding an additional £ amount to our room - so when we ordered room service - we could not as had not any credit on our room so had to leave room and go to reception to do this (which as we were in our room - was highly inconvenient

Hotel is exceptionally well placed for what we visit Loughborough for and is the overriding consideration in booking

Vending machines were 1) blocked due to ongoing work 2) No drinks in the other close to our Room (early evening) No car park code given to us so exit was delayed as it took time for call at barrier to get answered - causing cars behind us to get delayed also

Its ideal for our needs for when we are up in Loughborough visiting for Sports events

Staff were very friendly but lacked any local knowledge of the university. This was annoying as they must be constantly asked questions about the place being as the hotel is on University grounds and that would be the prime reason people stay there! They couldn't help us with an area we were after or the shuttle bus service - any answers they gave were random guesses.

Considering it is in the middle of being renovated, it was still very comfortable and pretty much everything was accessible.

Some of the fixtures in the spa area needed fixing - broken on button for jacuzzi, steam room needed to be hotter, several lockers out of action. Terrible service in first night in the dining room - I ordered my meal 3 times as the order kept getting lost and eventually was served food after 10pm. Service much quicker on second night but the food was poor quality and expensive for what you got. My Caesar salad was a lettuce chopped into quarters and put on the plate, and a £7.50 desert comprised of a banana sliced in half and served with a scoop of ice cream. Information in the room was out of date and there was no menu in the room.

Comfortable clean rooms. Pool and spa facilities were good. Breakfast was exceptional.

Unfortunately we had to move rooms as the temperature in the first room was unbearable at night. Even though the radiator was off the exposed pipes were giving off a lot of heat. The bathrooms were shabby and were in need of a freshen up with both rooms that we stayed in having what appeared to be water damage to the doors. Would appear that the £4m upgrade for this year doesn't cover the rooms which in my opinion is an oversight.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and very friendly staff. Found the bed very comfortable Location was good.

The heating coming on was noisy. Also, the plumbing in a nearby room was really loud - sounded like air was trapped in the pipes.

Room was large. Bed very comfortable. Enjoyed use of pool etc. Gym looked well equipped. Looked like they had beauty treatment rooms but didn't see any literature to confirm this. Asked for a room in a quiet location and this was fulfilled. Didn't eat in restaurant but menu looked good and competitively priced.
