It could feel more welcoming. The check in time is very late and there are no staff around most of the time. In fact it is possible to arrive before check in and leave luggage but this information is not given without asking and it would be nicer if it were informed as a matter of course. Also didn't see any information about walk in the area. A weather forecast etc which is usual for hostels in hiking areas. It is near the visitor center but the visitor center was closed so it was lucky I got maps and info in Aviemore before I arrived.

Comfortable rooms, really nice lounge, dinning area, good drying room, good kitchen although not as big as I would have expected for the size of hostel but it wasn't too busy when I was there. Great location right next to the bus stop with regular buses from Aviemore and 7 mins walk from loch morlich. I'd stay again

The food served for dinner wasn't great (I didn't try the breakfast). The beds were quite uncomfortable.

The hostel is in the perfect location for what I needed. The rooms are spacious, clean and warm. The bathrooms seemed newly redone, are clean and the showers are excellent. It has good facilities (kitchen, drying room, washing machines...). The common room is nice and cosy, with lovely views. Free parking. Very dog friendly (dogs are allowed everywhere except the kitchen).

Rooms are a bit dated but spacious compared to most hostels.

Good location for many interesting places nearby such as lock molich beach for water activities and zip lining etc. it has a well equipped kitchen and offers towels and free tea/coffee. Room is very spacious too with newly renovated bathrooms.

Loved this hostel - it's quiet, the rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen and dining area are spacious enough. The location is the best part, right next to the bus stop, and moments away from hiking trails.

With most hostels in any older building your going to have creaking floors and banging doors, so unfortunately you can hear people pottering about.

The view and location is amazing! Bus stop right outside, which is so handy. The staff were all super lovely and helpful. The self-catering kitchen is well equipped and dinning area was big, actually all the common areas and rooms were good sizes, clean and nice to chill in.

No sink in the bedroom. The cooked breakfast was overcooked and the ingredients tasted cheap (eg the sausages)

Obviously being a hostel, there were people up talking outside our room quite late, so I would just make sure to have ear plugs next time.

Staff were fantastic! Gabriella and the chef in the kitchen were amazing at sorting a hearty dinner for us. Reception was super friendly too. Having bike storage is easy and useful.

Could do with handles when closing dorm doors as it makes an awful noise trying to be quiet, so not to wake folk up.

The breakfast was under-cooked, cold and expensive. Multiple shower rooms out of service and the ones that were open were full of bugs where the windows had been open for the steam from showers.

There was a bar/restaurant at the end of the drive which was perfect as not much atmosphere in the hostel. Great location to get to Cairngorm. 9 min drive down the road to get to cairngorm mountain resort. Not far from the start of the snow roads route too.

That the rooms were different to what was explained online. The family room we booked said it had a private bathroom, this was not the case. There are no en suite bathrooms at the this property.

The bedroom door didn't seem to lock, so security was a concern. Shower curtains seemed to be too short, meaning everything got wet. Some guests didn't bother to dry thr floor after themselves which also meant the room would be flood led for the next user.

Great location for access to the hills. Ample on-site parking. The kitchen facilities were great. Staff were helpful. Plenty of bathrooms which were always clean.

Two of the three shower facilities were out of order. The car park has disguarded poo bags dumped by irresponsible dog owners which I almost stood on when retrieving my items on check in.

The location was spectacular.
