Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Just needed to know whether a full English breakfast was included in the price. It’s not very clear. We did have a very good full English.
It was quite basic but clean and had everything we needed. Staff were helpful. The price was good as we needed somewhere to sleep, shower and have breakfast.

Parking. I validated my parking at check in at reception as required. A week after my stay I got a parking ticket for £100. I called the hotel to query this and was told to email so it would be cancelled. I did this but received another letter demanding payment. I contacted the hotel again and was reassured the ticket was cancelled. This experience was an unexpected inconvenience which spoiled my overall experience of the stay. Some forewarning upon check in with all the information regarding ticketing/emailing would be helpful; or a better process of communication between the hotel and the car park management company.
Great hotel, very comfortable and good facilities/location. Didn’t have to check out until 12pm which was also very good.

Objected to being refused entry to the resturant at around 7.00pm as an outside event was being held and was told to wait until after 9.00pm as they were given priorty!! Very bad to alienate the residents, and of course I went else where.

The male reception person. He is not very welcoming. Regardless of the day I arrive or the time of day. He makes me feel like I am a bother to him.

Tiny room but bed was open coil and very uncomfortable which is inexcusable for a hotel.. quality of the bed is paramount. Room was very hot, not a huge problem in April but come summer this would be a big issue.

Over 35 minute wait for breakfast, order taken twice, then staff member came out and said they had run out of key items (hash browns, bacon) 3 days ago, despite taking the order!? I asked reception for a refund, it had to be via email. I've still not received an acknowledgement, luckily Booking.com took charge and refunded. Shocking service by the hotel!

I found the lack of a safety handle in the bath/shower very difficult, i felt it was very dangerous and could cause injury if one slipped in such a cramped space.' The lack of a USB socket in the room also is not good in today's world. I paid £26 for two breakfasts. The cooked breakfast was only warm and really poor, not worth anywhere near £13 a go. So the second day I got there around 7am and only had a poor continental breakfast because i didn't want a repeat of the previous day's breakfast. According to the receptionist it was not possible to reimburse the difference so it cost me £13 for a £6,50 breakfast. There was no orange juice, only apples, no other fruit provided. No bottled water. The restaurant was closed both nights so no evening meals available. The staff themselves were pleasant but I left feeling very disappointed.

Our first room the toilet did not flush . Breakfast wasn’t good
Breakfast was not good .I asked for scrambled egg with my cooked English breakfast . It was full of black pepper and was un eatable. So I asked them to replace it with fried eggs. I had to wait 15 mins for them . The breakfast this time was not up to standard like our last stay.

Not many tea bags and the furniture was dated but can’t expect much else for the price.
