Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Dinner was delicious. They catered well for gluten free diets. Great choice of cooked food at breakfast, with quality ingredients. Staff were helpful. My single room was generous.

The size of the room was quite small. Just big enough for the two of us. The tray for tea and coffee was tucked away and we didn't find it for 36 hours as it was in one side of the wardrobe which we didn't use.
We stayed on a B & B basis. The three breakfasts we had were very good. My wife and I enjoyed either a full breakfast or an omelette. Both of which were excellent. The staff were very pleasant, particularly those in the breakfast room.

Insufficient parking for the number of potential residents. We were fortunate to change our itinerary to ensure parking on return and also stayed at the very beginning of the season so fewer guests on site.

The breakfast was superb, & the location perfect located next to the venue for a wedding we were attending plus a short walk to the harbour.

The breakfast was far too early. It was finished by 09.30. We stayed over the Easter weekend and did not want to be up that early. The first morning we were there we were declined a cooked breakfast because we got there at 09.40. Our room was tiny. There was not wardrobe space for my dresses. Was only big enough for shirts. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.

Having to leave :(
Returning visit to the hotel, greeted by the same staff a year on and they remembered us and our little dog Pippa. We had the best time and our room was spot on like last year! We simply cannot fault the hotel and the staff!

Room could have been bigger Breakfast Sunday morning not as good but still a great choice
Breakfast the 1st day was superb! On the Sunday morning not so good, so a change of chef we think... Room was lovely but very small, however ideal for what we needed. Really friendly staff and would visit again.

Fantastic breakfast, loads of choice. Fresh fruit salad, pastries ,cereals, whatever cooked (including fish, omelette) Staff amazing, nothing too much trouble.

lovely lounge area to relax in. super comfy bed, all very modern. good choice for breakfast, continental or full English.. very dog friendly, our dog was given a sausage at breakfast. 10 min walk to harbour, cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. enjoyed our stay and will return again.

All great with accommodation Only disappointment was the caves to the beach were closed
I know are stay was out of season and it was fairly quiet but the staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast menu was excellent many options. My wife and I will definitely stay there again. Many thanks Geoff and Rose

There is nothing not to like
The owner was very helpful and the breakfast was of a good standard only wish we had eaten there in the evening. It's on the flat so no hill to climb

Personal preference, outside colour and look of the property makes it look older type of hotel but don’t judge a book or hotel in this case by its cover.
Moment we walked in friendly greeting, upgraded to a Queen room, evening meals and breakfast absolutely delicious high standard. All staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely modern rooms, comfy bed and homemade biscuits by the chef great little touch. All happy to help with general area knowledge and nothing too much trouble. Wish l had taken pictures to pass on.

I cannot think of anything to say
The staff were exceptional , the Hotel was far better than a 2 star should be and I would rate it much higher, we stayed for 2 nights and ate in the Hotel restaurant both nights the food was wonderful and the Fish and Chips was the best I have ever had. Good wine list.
