Prompt breakfast service, 40 minutes delay is unacceptableGood

Breakfast was good but service on the second morning painfully slow it took 40 minutes to serve continental breakfast and a bowl of porridge so my wife did not have the time to have porridge.the

We ate in the bar every time as we had our dog with us, which was okay but I think the decor could have been a bit cosier & brighter. My evening meal was nice initially & had been specially made for me within the offer, but it was too salty for me after a while (I added no salt myself).

Our dog friendly room had been redecorated & was really clean, comfy & well decorated. The staff were friendly & helpful, the breakfasts were delicious (haddock & poached eggs, full English, vegi) & the village is lovely. No charge for our dog, brilliant!

    Nothing much really

Good value accommodation with free parking. Very nice quality breakfast apart from the concentrated orange juice, but that’s just been very picky..

Convenient for an overnight stay in a charming village

Although the room was spacious it felt a little bare - even though there were some pictures on the walls. The large bed was somewhat lumpy (felt like a spring?) on one side (nearest the window). Not a problem for me as I moved to the other side. Not an option for couples.

Room 2 was very spacious, served by 3 radiators under my control Bathroom was a generous size with plenty of space for toiletries (so often not the case!). Dinner (not included in room rate) and breakfast (included) were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful in a quiet, low key way.

The place is a little shabby and could do with redecoration. But it's clean, which is the main thing. Dome kind of extractor fan going all night in another room; we think from the kitchen.

Very good food and breakfast. Helpful staff. Good price at this time of year with breakfast included.

The evening meal (steak) was not very good. Although the Korean chicken starter was excellent. Restaurant service wasn't very good as the waiter was more engaged in finishing a lengthy conversation with one table than people waiting to be seated. No drinks menu given yet asked immediately for a drinks order!

Breakfast was very good quality and generous in food portion. Asked for coffee refills and had the impression that I shouldn't have. The room we were allocated (Room 2) was large and very comfortable.

The bedrooms do need a 'tidy up', but the price for a room reflects this fact.

All the staff at The Cartwright were very friendly and helpful, Parking was very easy when we arrived at 4.00pm, but I imagine it could be more difficult later if the hotel is full. Our bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The food at our evening meal was excellent and there was plenty of choice. Breakfast was also excellent.

Rooms need a bit of TLC. Lock didn't work on the outside door to our room. We mentioned this on the first day and were told it was being fixed next day. It wasn't and consequently we got locked out!

Full English Breakfast was excellent. Croissants were on the menu but were rarely available. The first room were given was cold and damp and a bit dusty but we were swiftly moved to a lovely room. Evening meals were good.

Only had the continental breakfast as i never had time for the full english but i'm sure it would be great as the evening meal was spot on. The manager was really nice and friendly and the location was ok for working in Bicester. The room was clean and comfortable so overall a great place to stay.

Decor in the bedroom and bathroom was a little dated with artex on walls - not that it really mattered, we had a lovely time in the bar.

Fantastic welcome and hospitality, comfortable and unexpectedly good sized room with sofa and armchair. Tasty well priced evening meal and amazing choice for breakfast. Kim and her team went above and beyond to make our stay special. The dog has already asked if we can go back next weekend.

I'm being very picky... as I would definitely stay again with my wife...so these are more observations rather than dislikes.. Lots of stairs and different levels so difficult for elderly guests but they do have courtyard rooms. WiFi wasn't the strongest in room 7 which also suffered with a bit of wind making a rattling noise somewhere above....

Really friendly check in and restaurant staff. Comfortable large room with seating area and big bathroom. Good choice of food in the restaurant... i had the gammon and sticky toffee pudding which was delicious plus Hook Norton beer. I had to leave before 6am to travel into London so was going to miss the breakfast service. I mentioned this to the evening team who immediately prepared a few cheese and ham croissant in a take away box so I wouldn't waste away in the morning.... Recommended

Had to go and find staff to check in when I asked if anyone was on the desk I got a reply of "there can be" not the kind of service you expect or want after a 3 hour drive to get there.

Hidden away in a beautiful little village
