The welcome from Janet was warm and friendly,the room was ideal comfortable and clean and breakfast was perfect with options to choose from on arrival. In the morning your personalised table was ready and waiting with Sue and Janet on hand to bring beverages of your choice immediately followed by a well cooked and prepared breakfast. We particularly liked the little jars of cereal available so much more hygienic than lots of open boxes and less waste than individual boxes.

Ideal location for anyone staying in matlock, a very short walk to the town, the owners were very accommodating and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast had lots of options and tasty. Would definitely recommend and would stay again

The creaking beds and the bedding seemed to cling to us both, took duvet cover off for the second night and slept a bit better Not a great sleep

There wasn't anything which we could fault and we were told if we required anything we were only to ask.

The minute we arrived we felt welcomed, the host was warm and friendly. Our room which was on the ground-floor was spotless and had a huge walk-in shower which was ideal. The bed was comfy and was Queen size. Wi-fi was free, there was tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and a flat screen TV. The room also contained a fridge for personal use but bottled water and some chocolate bars were also inside which if you wanted you were just asked to leave 50p for a bottle of water and 60p for a chocolate bar. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and service was quick and again the member of staff very friendly. We were lucky with the weather and sat out in the garden in the evening.

There was nothing that we didn't like

We liked Janet and her friend. The breakfast was just what we asked for and really nicely done. The place itself was in a lovely location with a great view of the castle from one of our rooms. It was quiet and peaceful. It was very clean with comfortable beds and a great shower. It was very easy to get into Matlock so in a good position for anyone wanting to visit the Matlock area. All in all a great place to stay. We would highly recommend it.

Janet & John provided a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble . Our room was spacious, clean and we also had the benefit of a safe and a small fridge. The breakfast was excellent every day while the garden area provided ample seating to sit and relax in the evenings. All in all superb value for money and we will be back!

Had the pleasure of staying at Castle Green B&B over the weekend, using as a base for touring the Peak District by motorcycle. The B&B itself is fantastically located; being close enough to Matlock town centre that the town's shops and restaurants are within easy walking reach, while being remote enough to be away from any congestion and awoken by birdsong in the morning. The rooms are furnished to a high standard, with the upper rooms offering a great view of the local castle. The addition of a [silent] fridge and room safe were also nice touches. Stand-out for me was the English breakfast, which was cooked to perfection each day and served as an ideal start for our days of two-wheeled adventures. Finally the hosts, Janet and John, who are amazingly kind and friendly, and went above and beyond to assist in some mechanical issues that put said adventuring in jeopardy. Will be back, 7/5 stars! :)

I don't think there is anything not to like to be honest.

Everything! Janet & John are excellent hosts with great local knowledge and really good kind people. Very good breakfast with great choice. The room was warm clean and comfortable with very good facilities. Great car parking. The location is quiet.
