We liked everything

Near to location of family wedding and half the price of staying at the wedding venue. Staff were exceptionally helpful, allowing us to check in at 11.45 to change for the wedding.

The food was excellent and the evening meal was very reasonably priced. The hotel even provided tea/coffee and a cake in the lounge as part of the overall price and the included breakfast was superb.

Fantastically well kept grounds with a great view, staff appeared by magic when you range the bell. Appreciated the hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. Lots of character in the building

The bed was small and very uncomfortable and we would have preferred a duvet on the bed rathe than the tucked in blankets.

Fantastic breakfast. It really did surpass all expectations. Cream and honey with the homemade porridge was lovely. Then the full English breakfast was in incredible, and all sourced locally. The complementary tea and cake when we arrived was lovely and the idea of a glass of sherry each in our room was a nice touch also.

There wasn’t anything we disliked.

Hotel located close to Quantock Lakes wedding venue. Room was clean and had everything we needed including some complimentary sherry. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.

Having too leave a magnificent hotel and it's fabulous setting .

Food was superb, could not ask for more Service magnificent all thd staff made us feel very welcome and met with the lovely owners who were absolutely brilliant. Also a big mention to Emily who kept me updated with arranging our stay special ie food choice , times and any other questions we had. Thanks Emily 👍 😊

Only disappointment was we had a room close to the road and the windows were not double glazed.but we realised this is because it is a listed building.but maybe could have secondary glazing .

It was near to the location of a wedding we attended. Characterful old building. The staff were lovely, helpful and obliging and allowed a very early check in when I didn’t feel well

Clean, cosy, friendly and welcoming staff who were very attentive , breakfast was wonderful and location is beautiful. Just hope if the new owner makes any changes that they do it in keeping with the building and the already amazing atmosphere of the place. Also I hope the prices don't jump up to price us out of being able to stay again. A place I have past for years growing up and finally got to stay. We hope to see you all again soon. Keep doing what you are doing :-)

This is our third time of staying here this year and it has always been a very relaxing experience. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable with some very nice personal touches. The beds are also very good and comfortable.

The location is lovely, inside it’s full of character and charm, very welcoming and helpful staff, rooms were clean and lovely, generous tea tray and complimentary Sherry, lovely towels and robes and the best shower I’ve experienced in any hotel! Plenty of choice for breakfast, lovely fresh ingredients.

Hotel is on a main road - makes it easy to find and, whilst road is quiet in the night, traffic does start early. Not a problem in the winter but could be at front of property if you need to keep the windows open. That's about it though, everything else positive.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good quality freshly cooked food. We were offered a free room upgrade. Plenty of extras in the bedroom. Good atmosphere - other guests prepared to talk to each other. Nice grounds. Plenty of parking.

Beautiful setting and grounds, the staff were friendly and helpful, helped us to find and book taxis and advised where to go for food at the local pub, which was excellent. Definitely recommend staying at the Castle of comfort.
