Big clunky armchair in the middle of the room, had a stain on the arm. Breakfast options left much to be desired, no hot food eg baked beans, sausages, bacon etc.

I was in the ground floor room and from 4.30am until when I got up at 7.30am the door bell was being rung several times and there was the sound of lots of talking from staff. This was disruptive.

    Comfy bed, nice room

    Good value for the location.

Messaging before arrival is all by chatbot - lots of repeated messages, and the request for a ground floor room was replied to with an impersonal 'ground floor rooms are subject to availability' rather than 'let's see what we can do for you, and we can help you with your luggage.' Downside of my ground floor room was noise outside in the hallway. Garden outside the window could be a plus, but needs clearing. Staff absent at breakfast. Could do with a chair in the room, coat hook, and a shelf in the shower.

Chose this for the location close to Birkbeck, and best price in the area on the date I needed. Grateful for a ground floor room, as I have an injury and can't carry luggage upstairs (there is no lift). Decent size room and comfortable bed. Staff member on reception was very friendly.

The room was too small for 2 adults and 1 child 12 years old. It was not possible to use the sofa for sleeping, so the 3 of us used the double bed and it was really uncomfortable.

The location is very good, the breakfast - basic, but enough.

Very dated decor. Dirty carpets and bedding. Glass door on the bathroom. Reception always unmanned - had to use the reception at the adjacent hotel. Dining room far too small for the number of people using it.

Adequate but the size of the room would not be appropriate for meticulous organizers.

room was very tiny; cupboard would not hold clothes. Had to put suitcase on floor. Very clean room. Faced on to a garden, which hypothetically I could have gone out into but could not. I am 175 cm and a bit less than 100 kilos and I could have been claustrophobic had I chosen to be. Light switch was awkward for bed time and there was no reading light for bed [it was too too small for a bedside table.]

Staff very nice and accommodating -- had trouble with the safe and they solved it quickly. Convenient to what I hold precious -- Russell Square and the British Museum -- it was clean and had the minimum. The breakfasts were VERY well done. AND included in the price. I'm glad I was on the ground floor. A very safe area and close to tube and bus stops.

The bed was a very small double and was extremely noisy first thing in the morning. I was woken up as early as 6.45am with someone ringing the door bell. You have to check in next door in another hotel which confused me a little.

Had to come to visit family in hospital and this was the nearest hotel, just a 7min walk to the University Hospital. It is also just a 20 min walk to all the theaters and 2 min from a tube station. The hotel was clean with a smart TV and everything you need.

We had to go daily to reception to re validate our room card Floor carpets look tired Small breakfast area and had to queue for a table on Sunday ( one day out of three ) Not many tables for 2 which meant single people on table for four ! Seat allocation would have sorted this

Easy check in Professional and helpful staff at reception Girls in breakfast area very polite and friendly Continental breakfast included in price with lots of choices For the price we paid for double room and breakfast for 2 people very good value If your expecting the Hilton then you may be disappointed as this is a budget hotel but very clean and in a great location

For most professionals, we would watch news and everything else happening around the world on TV everyday. For two days being in the room I could not because you have a 20th Century TV set in the room. In fact this was the most shocking and thing about the room or the hotel. You need to change those TVs for better smart ones.

Good view of the major road and good wifi connection.

The first room they give us had a bad smell, the TV was tiny (microwave door bigger), carpet old and stained, bed hard could feel the springs, there was no milk with tea and coffee. Went and got some at reception made tea and the milk was off. Breakfast is just tea/coffee, toast, cereal, tinned fruit (not fresh) and first day had small pastry selection, second day nothing . The toaster took AGES.

They changed our room without questioning. Shower was nice.

The room was tiny, the floor carpet looked dirty. Toilet and linen looked clean. Staff was unhelpful. Breakfast very basic. The walls are made of paper and could hear all sorts of noises that disturbed my sleep, both from the street and from banging doors inside the building
