Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel was just off the M62 Motorway and we could hear the noise of traffic during the night.
The bedrooms were newly refurbished to a good standard. However in one of the rooms we occupied a ceiling light was hanging off and a curtain was missing a hook - there was no-one to report these maintenance problems to on our departure.

United KingdomI didn’t like the full blown pictures of the young female models individually placed above each of the urinals looking down at the urinal and marking facial gestures towards men and boys having a pee. I found it tasteless and very demeaning. If one of those girls were my daughter and I had walked in there and seen her above the urinal well let’s just say there wouldn’t be much of a toilet left. Take them down before you have a law suit on your hands. Why do hotel guests have to pay £4 parking? It’s free for gym members who pay less than half a months fees than what i payed for one nights stay and it’s also free for someone who wants to stay for 4 hours to have a meal. I doesn’t make any sense? £5.60 for a pint of Heineken? £6 for a pint of Guinness. Your in Huddersfield guys not London? Infact it’s cheaper in certain parts of London?
The hotel has had a total refurbishment and is still going through so it was as it should be new.

United KingdomFreshly painted room and it stunk of paint which triggered my asthma unfortunately. The bathroom mirror light would be wonderful if you could leave that on at night without having the fan running or big bathroom light on so you can find the bathroom in the dark. They don't have family rooms which is a shame as we normally travel as a 5 which would mean 3 rooms at a great expense when a rival hotel down the road has family rooms so we would only have to book 2 rooms.
Love the location. The bed was very comfy. I asked for more teabags and no problem at all helpful friendly staff.

United KingdomThe room was a bit tired. Mouldy grout in the bathroom and the wooden toilet seat has seen better days. The hotel is currently going through modernisation of their rooms so these points should be addressed in the not to distance future.
The location is great and the first expression of the hotel was also great! I would also add that their breakfast is good value for money!

United KingdomMattress on the bed was terrible, may aswell have slept on the floor. I requested an early check in at the hotel a few days before I arrived. At no point did the person I spoke with mention that there would be an additional charge for this. Ended up paying £20 extra that I hadn't budgeted for (£10 per extra hour)
Room had been recently updated so quite nice.

United KingdomTHE WORST THING IS THE HEADLINE RATE DOES NOT INCLUDE PARKING. An additional £4 to park your car. Not a lot, but for a hotel on a motorway junction how else does anyone get there? Service charge to get a drink yourself from the bar, optional, but I did ask for it to be taken off, and I am not sure it was. BE AWARE, that if you have mobility issues then this is not a very friendly hotel, LOTS of little sets of steps and very long corridors, make sure that the room you get suits your needs. We walked a LOT!
Since we stayed before, the hotel has been refurbished, and the rooms were very good, spartan, but new fresh and clean, some little details still missing, e.g. no toilet roll holder in the bathroom and nowhere lo place soap / shampoo on the shower. Good bed. Do provide "proper" toiletries not a bottle screwed to the wall.

United KingdomWe were told that breakfast was until 10.30am. We got there at 10.10am and the hot food was already almost completely taken away by the staff. They offered to plate us up some food, but we said we would help ourselves to what was left. All the juices were pretty much empty and they were packing away the continental breakfast too, so couldn't have that either.
Hotel was very clean and room was a good size. The staff were generally nice and polite.

United KingdomNot Disability friendly Blue badge parking is at the bottom of 16 steps. There is no parking closer to the hotel entrance. With limited mobility, it was a very painful experience. There is nothing on the website about this. Accessible rooms were not available. Requested a room near the lift. This was provided, but it was another 4 x steps and a 30-yard walk along a long corridor to get to the lift. By this time, I was in pain, angry, and very close to tears. The walk-in shower was dangerous. There wasn't anything to hold onto to help step up or down. No grab rails at all. Large slippy tray even with a requested slip mat, which was too small. I could not use the shower. The staff tried their best I booked this hotel to be able to rest and relax before the motorway journey the next day, but I was in increased pain instead. Terrible, terrible experience.

United KingdomOur room was located directly above the function room. As Bonkers Bingo was on, we had no peace until late in the evening. If they know there’s a function on, they shouldn’t use those rooms. We also had to wait for over an hour in the Lounge for our meal to arrive, and had to ask for it before it finally arrived. Quite expensive for what we had. Had to pay for parking even though we were staying in the hotel. People using gym or restaurant can park for free, despite not staying in the hotel. How does that work?
Good breakfast at reasonable price and pleasant staff.
