Very poor. No toilet paper. I mean, none.

Room carpet was strewn with debris. Had not been cleaned for some time. Borrowed vacuum from reception and did it myself. No daylight from window, as it was an arm's length from a huge chipboard fence leaning against the gutters. Carpark unlit. Reception dark after 8pm. At 10pm, I realised there was no toilet paper, in my room or in the nearby general WCs. Dialled 0 from reception, no reply. Too late to find another hotel. Not even AA* never mind AA*** as advertised. The management has promised me a refund.

Bed comfortable although carelessly made up. Towels goods. Bathroom clean. TV and WiFi worked fine. Kettle, drinks etc. ok. Quiet at night.

The room was very shabby; decor was from approx 70s and did not appear to have been refurbished since then. There was a strong/odd smell in the bathroom; maybe drains or silage? The room next door was very noisy with a party one night and loud TV the following night. Although this hotel is technically within walking distance of town centre, the walk is an unpleasant one along main roads through industrial areas. There is no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast, and no alternative places to eat or drink nearby – the closest is 24 hour McDonalds a little down the road. Hotel feels a bit like a ghost town with many large empty spaces throughout.

This was cheap and reflected our expectations (which were very low as we'd seen reviews here and on other sites). We wanted to stay in Stowmarket and it was the only room available within walking distance of the city centre. Bedding and towels were clean and there were tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of parking for the conference and events venue that this used to be. Staff were pleasant.

The sheets and towels, although clean, looked grubby and stained. The building is tired and could do with refurbishment.

The bed we had was old and uncomfortable. The cold tap in the bathroom needed a new washer, and was constantly dripping along with the toilet. I had to shut the bathroom door to cut out the noise. Also, we were disappointed that no food/ breakfast was available. Although we had been informed via an email after we'd booked. Although it could not be helped, I got woken around 4am on the first night with a loud dawn chorus. The old sliding sash window was open at the top though. On the second night I closed it plus the secondary double glazing and it wasn't so bad.

From our arrival to us leaving, Calvin on reception was excellent. He was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.

The property is very run down. The room smelt a bit. If it is a hotel it SHOULD serve breakfast at LEAST. I would never stay there again. It is a collection of old rooms and not a hotel.

Price was equivalent to European hotels. The quality of the facilities wasn't. The hotel is very tired and is in need of renovation. There was NO hot water for a shave! Be aware there are NO restaurant facilities at the hotel. (We knew this when we booked)

One of the light bulbs was broken, there was no remote for the TV, the bathroom was dusty, the toilet lid kept closing while using the toilet, the toilet kept running so that by the end of the second night it was impossible to flush fully. The floor was uneven, the bed sagged a lot in the middle, the window didn't open fully, and the walls were very thin so we could hear everything that was happening in the adjacent rooms.

We were informed in advance that the restaurant and bar were closed which allowed us to plan ahead. The staff were nice.

When we first pulled up we thought the building was closed. It was very shabby from the outside and did not look much better inside. Room smelt musty. There were cobwebs under the desk. Our view out of the window was boarding. The room and bathroom were tired not worth the £73 paid for the night.

The room had plenty of space to move around. Extra chairs so you do not have to sit on the bed. There were tea and coffee facilities and toiletries in the bathroom. Bed wasn't too bad, it had plenty of pillows.

It felt like a really scruffy place where people are still making money but offering as little as possible. The car park was full of puddles with no lights so felt unsafe. The room was clean but not very pleasant, the rest of the building felt like it needed sorting out and improving. The tea provision was minimal, with no biscuits. There was no breakfast provision or even a machine with snacks in it. The tatty exterior did not match the way it was described at all. I was concerned that Ryan was on duty for the whole of the 48 hours I was there. I did not feel much like a valued customer...

Ryan on the desk was really pleasant and the room was clean, warm and comfortable with space. Parking was OK..

The toilet sistern was filling up constantly, there was a nasty smell in the bathroom smelled like sewers, cobwebs in the bathroom and the toilet door had a hole in it from a previous door handle which had obviously been changed but the hole from the old handle fitting was below the new handle. A bit shabby if I’m honest. Couldn’t order any breakfast as they didn’t do food at all.

The room was adequate, the man on reception was helpful.
