we had a ground floor room which was very nice but it was quite noisy when people walked about upstairs so next time we will try and get an upstairs room.

There was a crack in one of the walls.

When we come to Barnstaple we normally stay at the Premier Inn but find it so expensive but the cedars is as just as good if not better in my opinion the room we had was really comfortable nice and spacious and a really nice bathroom will definitely be staying again.

The restaurant food was overpriced for what it was. Pretty standard pub chain food so disappointed with what we gor versus the price charged.

Under staffed. You could tell they were stressed and doing different roles eg reception staff were also in the kitchen and serving food and drinks. My only issue was that the heating was on full and the room was so hot it made it uncomfortable to sleep in and that was with the windows open and the fan on. ( we were ground floor and the windows were now the small ones, so was only comfortable leaving the windows open because we had dogs.)

Breakfast was exemplary as were the staff who served it. My room smelled badly but that is probably because it was a dog room. I have a special needs dog who thankfully does NOT have an odour at all and even she had difficulty finding a place that didn't wreak of other dogs to sit and indeed sleep so, i hobbled to my car and got her bed which is off the floor and she slept fine after that but it was difficult and i had all of the windows open fully to try and rid the smell but alas, no way it was shifting. I did not complain to cedars staff and they are NOT the cleaning team and also too many complaints and dogs will be barred from the hotel and that would be a shame. People with dogs should be told to bring an off the floor raised bed for their companion so as to NOT inconvenience other staying guests maybe!!?. Appart from that i have nothing but praise for the Cedars Inn hotel and staff.

Friendly helpful staff. Good service. Nice atmosphere in restaurant at breakfast and dinner. Comfy room with gorgeous roll top bath and efficient shower. Convenient location. Menu and food choices great, as well as wine and drinks. Excellent food. Very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Lovely big room across from the main building. Comfy bed, great breakfast options, stone throw away from the SWCP so very convenient after a long day's walk. Stayed for two nights to rest my feet
