The maintenance could've been better. One of the uplights in the bathroom was flickering. It took a while for it to settle.

Heating is always temperamental - had use of a plug in radiator, which made up for a fault in the room heating.

Dinner was poor value, standard pub food but at a Bistro price. I understand they offer a lot of deals that include dinner in the price, which probalbly explains it

The room hadn’t been cleaned properly- used contact lenses found on a shelf in the room!! The meal on the restaurant was over-priced and so we found a pub to eat at for the 2nd night there.

- it would be great if dinner at the restaurant could be booked from 6 rather than 7 onwards, as 7 is quite late for families with children. Yes, you can order at the bar - but - by it's very nature the bar can be very loud and (obviously) full of people drinking, being loud and liberal with their language (as they have every right to be in a bar!) - not ideal when dining with children.

The bath in the room had a thick tiled area around it which made stepping out of it very difficult for anyone with short legs. It was an odd design choice and not particularly safe because of the chance of slipping when trying to put your foot on the floor.

My room was extremely spacious, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows and linens. The hotel was very large and clean with good facilities and a number of places to eat on site.

Halving the already small pool so local swimming lessons could take place was annoying- I appreciate its steady income for the hotel but the pool is already very small. The breakfast was disappointing- we were told on arrival it was buffet only but later saw a menu with hot items available to order but by that time it was too late. Fruit was limited to melon which is obviously cost effective but boring. Juices looked watered down and the coffee machines dispersed half measures - we were supplied with huge mugs but the machine only filled them a third of the way.

Great size room, good quality bedding. Liked bathroom, shower was hot & powerful. Clean! Appreciated the fridge and the bottles of water were a welcome extra. Evening meal in restaurant was great, staff were attentive and professional.

Breakfast could have more bakery options not just toast bread and maybe cheese and ham. Kids don't always like fry up in the morning.

Mattress was appauling. If you like sleeping on a trampoline and bouncing around with no back support, go for it. Shower screen too small for spread of water flow from shower head, so floor was drenched after a shower. Not a biggy as mopped up after a shower but could be a risk to rooms below in the future.

The bed was two single beds put together, but they were rock solid. I've come away with back pains. The travel cot supplied foe my 8 month old had no mattress, it was the base board only. If we had known this we would have brought our own. The room wasn't as clean as I expected there was a white powder/dust coating the bathroom floor, dust on the desk and on the window sill.

The size of the room was good.

Would've loved if we could've had dinner earlier, as the earliest in the restaurant was 6.30, which was a bit late for the little ones.

NOT a criticism. Rather stupidly I did not investigate if there were any rooms with a walk-in shower facility.......We both have great difficulty in getting into a bath. (Only have walk-in at home).

No wrong doing of the hotel but had a group of young kids running up and down the passage late at night making a hell of a noise.

All in all a fantastic place to stay that is in a great location. The rooms were really nice and spacious and the staff were very friendly. Great value for money.
