Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's a themed hotel aimed at kids so obviously there was a fair bit of entertainment noise / music in the foyer. Had window open in my room and had to listen to the welcome music from the car park over and over. Fortunately I found it amusing rather than annoying.
Lovely choice of fresh fruit at the breakfast bar. Fantastic view out the window at breakfast - beats the view of the car park that I see at most hotels I stay at. Lady at breakfast (Julie) and people on reception very friendly. Bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomOnly the free Wi-Fi which was so rubbish, it didn't actually work. It kept saying it would send an email to confirm the set-up. No email ever arrived and I could not get a decent phone signal in the room for calls and had to go outside and couldn't get tethering to work.
The room is large and comes with a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was good and large. the shower was great.

United KingdomIt's quite possible to stay here and commute into London, but its is a long way. But the journey is fun on the 1930s Chessington South branch. The rates go up hugely when families come to stay and the white van men find somewhere cheaper.
This is an excellent hotel on the outskirts of London. Popular with "white van men", contractors doing decorating / electricians / plumbers etc during school term when children are in school, theme park is closed and families are not staying. Great rates and walkable or frequent bus 71 (terminus is outside the car park) to Chessington South station. Breakfast is good. I have stayed on three occasions.

United KingdomRooms and facilities a bit dated but nothing major. £2 per towel for the pool so would advise bringing your own.
Proximity to park, lots of stuff to do with the kids, good food options so didn’t need to go out looking for restaurants. Pool and splash area good for little ones. Early access to the park and activities in and around pretty useful.

United KingdomFood was budget quality without the budget prices. They have you captured! Cooked breakfast was cheap produce and dried out, but the continental was fine. Booking.com had put us in a junior family room, but my 10yo at 5ft could never fit in the kids bed. Luckily we could change rooms
Staff very helpful. Parking good and close to reception.

United KingdomDrinks were a bit pricey and draft beer went off, meaning you had to have expensive bottles. I suspect that in holiday season the hotel could be really packed and busy. I got a reasonable deal for the room, but I noticed the prices have real gone up now.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Dinner was good and not too expensive. Buffet breakfast was good. Room was far better than I expected. Coffee and tea provided in the room.

We like the themed rooms and triple bunkbeds for kids. They enjoyed the quiz to open a safe in the room and get a treat.

United KingdomI thought the breakfast was better than the evening food. The breakfast was lush the evening meals nice but probably not worth the money. The pool could be open an hour later.
It was overall an absolutely lovely hotel with the character meet of the Gruffalo, safari theme and friendly staff all round. I plan on going again. We went for work but brought our baby.

United KingdomWe booked a table in the Temple Restaurant over a month in advance but received a phone call the evening before our visit to say they weren't opening that Restaurant now so we had to eat in the more expensive Safari Restaurant. The outside area with animals & play area was advertised as being open to hotel guests from park close at 5pm until 6.30pm. We tried to go there at 5pm but it was still closed so we had to find a staff member who then had to contact a zoo staff member. We got access around 5.30 but then was told it would close at 6.15pm.
The hotel was clean & the staff were friendly but things seemed a little disorganised and staff had to keep going off to find answers to questions regarding entertainment or early ride time.
