Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeware of being locked out on the deck of ground floor rooms. We had to go and get another key card twice and reception staff weren't the most helpful about it. Brilliant facilities for the dog too.
Excellent facilities and great food in the Brasserie

United KingdomThe front desk staff at reception were rude and unfriendly. Such a shame as the venue is so beautiful and investment in staff to train them in good customer service will really pay off!

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Clean and well kept. We were able to use all of amenities without any issues (gym, pool, sauna) despite hotel being very busy. Great breakfast for the price! Will definitely come back again.

United KingdomThere was no warm oat/lactose-free milk option, so I had to drink a cold cappuccino, this could be improved in the future. We were surprised to know at the check-in that the pool is only available if you pre-book a spa session. You can only use the pool for 1 hour after your spa session ends. I was hoping to use it to relax after the whole day travelling, but as we arrived after dinner, we didn't even have the chance to use the pool, so, keep that in mind if you want to use it.
Super comfortable bed, great bed linen, charming and beautiful location, the breakfast had many options, and we were happy with the complimentary Penhaligon's toiletries. We went there during a colder month to rest after visiting Cotswolds villages, but we thought it would be great to go back to stay only at the property to relax enjoying the lake and the hiking trails.

United Kingdomevening meal ( burger and chips) were luke warm, onion rings cold, sauce had a dry film over the top of it from sitting around . Chef was obviously not on his game! If i were on my own, the food would have been returned. (not value for money) . Poor show in not accepting cash thus alienating a lot of customers. This would make me think twice in future. Cash is still legal tender !!!!
Conference centre spacious, Breakfast good, ample parking, good service.

United KingdomShower didn't work properly. They've modernised the rest of the bathroom except the bath and shower which still seemed older. You could use just the lower shower head.
We didn't expect to have a balcony to sit on so that was a nice surprise. Lovely walk round the lake and enjoyed pizza and churros at the cafe on the other side. The pool and spa was nice and quiet so we didn't get charged to use it

United KingdomHaving a dog meant that breakfast was eaten in the bar area and we had to take it in turns to go and get food from the restaurant. As it was £15 we wanted to get our money worth! We had breakfast at the dog-friendly nearby Gateway cafe after the first day.
We took our dog and had a room with boardwalk outside our patio doors, which worked well.

United KingdomSmall point - but the grey chairs in the reception area are well past their best, but certainly need a good clean. Spa, lockers need a pound coin ? - these days who has a pound coin ? irritating You have to pay for a dressing gown hire - fine for a non=resiident but as residents there is one in the room had we been told.
Great breafast if a little expensive, there was plenty of good quality food right up to the end

United KingdomTwo people staying in the room and only one cup provided for tea/coffee, asked for a second at reception but was never given one. Shampoo, shower gel and hand soap all the same product and no good for washing hair with, bins not emptied from previous guests, mould in bathroom and floor needs looking at, bath didn’t drain away when using shower, I expected more for a four star hotel but felt it was no different to a premier inn or travelodge, needs some updating to bring back to four star rating
The hotel is in a nice location if you want something out of the way. Food in the restaurant was lovely

United KingdomWe were given a disabled room, which we didn't ask for. Very small sink etc. The pillows are so uncomfortable, no support. I asked for alternative pillows at reception but was told the pillows are all the same. She told me plenty of other people had complained about the pillows, she was very nice and understanding, However the lady we checked in with on reception clearly didn't want to be there, she was bored and spoke so quietly I couldn't understand what she was saying, when I asked her to speak a bit louder, she was clearly irritated by my request. Customer service definitely not for her :)
Room was large and spacious with a lovely view over the lake, Breakfast was great, location was very nice. Most of the staff were very good, with one exception (See below)

IrelandI have been using this hotel over the last ten years or so with no issues. At this point it's in need of some refurbishment. Rooms are looking somewhat tired, particularly the bathrooms. Worn wooden flooring in lobby of the room. Shower over bath out of date. Filled in holes where previous shower curtain rails fitted. Some painted surfaces blistered. Some ground floor rooms can be noisy with lots of foot traffic at all hours of the night. Having said all of that I would have no hesitation in booking again as it suits my needs.
Excellent location. Lots of easy parking. Ideal for doing business locally. Good connections to road network.

BrazilIt is not easy to arrive without a car. Also, not easy to go anywhere nearby without a car. I used the bus, but it is not frequent. Besides, the inner door of the bathroom is not enough to avoid water falling on the floor.
Very comfortable room and bed, plenty of space in the bedroom and in the bathroom. Good space to walk around. Nice gym and pizzeria close. Breakfast was fine, with good variety.
