Thanks to the modern wing, it’s a sprawling establishment so not ideal if mobility is an issue – but if you have a scooter, it’s fine thanks to multiple lifts throughout. The restaurant/brasserie are together at the far end of the modern wing. They lack the character and charm of the old part so I was surprised to pay such high prices for the food. Parking as you come up the drive is limited. There is generous parking through the arch on the left but it’s poorly signposted. Bedroom - tired looking. The mattress felt well used and no plugs beside the bed for medical devices, phone chargers etc. Three pin round plugs in the corners were unusable but they provided a very long extension cable from the normal sockets on the desk. Whilst the air con worked it was so squeaky we had to turn it off. Bathroom – despite the positives above there were a lot of issues. The shower in the cubicle just dribbled out. Not a normal shower let alone a power shower experience! So then you start looking for other issues. There was mold on the grout and the shower ring. The door seal did not work and despite the dribble of water, it still managed to soak the floor. The extractor fan worked well but was full of lint and hair and there were quite long whiskers sticking to the wall. The bath tap had bits missing but it worked. The face of the hand shower had fallen off so that could not be used and the brown stains to the bath looked, uninviting. The towel rail was broken so wet towels were the order of the day. These matters were all reported but no discount, refund or other compensation was offered! The swimming pool was nice but when some children arrived their parents allowed them to ignore all the signs and were jumping in all over the place. No attendants anywhere and they were just allowed to run riot. So an unpleasant spa experience. Would we go again? Oddly yes, so long as it was a different room. Next time I will check before unpacking...

The old part is stunning with beautiful grounds. Reception offers a real wow factor when you walk in. Good parking and a long way from the town centre so was quiet and felt safe. The swimming pool and related facilities were nice and of a high standard. Staff throughout were of a high calibre, pleasant and helpful. The Standard Room in the Modern Wing was a good size, clean, well appointed and with a bathroom that had a separate shower cubicle from the bath. Large bed, good TV, desk and chairs. Proper wardrobe with hangers, safe, iron, fridge, tea making facilities, iron and ironing board plus a trouser press. Spare towels and pillows also included.

Some of the staff in the brasserie were quite rude.

The hotel itself is lovely, some areas need a bit of TLC but its is obviously undergoing renovation. We were travelling as a group for our Mum’s 70th Birthday. The corridor our room was located on was being re carpeted and decorated which meant we had to go upstairs and along the corridor and then come back down at the opposite side to access our rooms, which isn’t ideal with a 70 year old and someone who’s nearly 80. The brasserie is lovely and the spa delivered everything it promised.

I have stayed in lots of hotels so couldn't remember what was included within your room precisely at Crewe but I did expect l, because of its luxury spa status, for it to include a separate shampoo and conditioner in the shower rather than a generic conditioning shampoo and shower gel. I have stayed in places far less luxurious who have this as a standard so didnt bring my own, my bad but I am glad I didn't have time to use the spa facilities as this would have been a real issue without conditioner. Irritating thing is, I will probably forget by the time I go again and make the same mistake. Come on Crewe Hall, you have a beautiful place with great staff...these small things make a big difference

Staff were friendly and professional, I liked the addition of the card that told you who had cleaned your room

The staff were so polite and friendly. The room service was so good. ‏ The only problem we had was breakfast. The breakfast was tasty, but during the three days of our stay, the breakfast buffet was often empty despite there being many guests around. At times, we even had to wait for basic items like bread and glasses. ‎‏We faced a similar issue when we ordered lunch, and it took a long time for it to arrive.

Pre booking a table in the restaurant is a must! We couldn't get in until 9pm, which is not good for me, I get hangry 😂 jacuzzi is a bit small, couldn't get in as was popular, but pool was fine.

Hotel is amazing, what an interesting place to stay. We had an upgrade on arrival, which was lovely, never been upgraded before 😊 leisure facilities are good, very relaxing, breakfast was lovely.

Only portable heaters in room as heating system/air con not working. Changed rooms but exactly the same problem in there too. Decor a little tired in places. Bad drain smell in some communal areas.

Can't think of anything so will have to say the only negative was the settings of the coffee machine at breakfast as both the cappuccino and the americano tasted very thin and lightweight.

We have stayed here twice before and was generally good but it has now gone up a notch with plenty of investment and clearly well trained staff. Yes there was no massive wedding going on to potentially complicate and disrupt things but everything seemed under control and the staff really on their game.
