Fantastic hotel full of English heritage and charm. The staff gave a very worm welcome and were great throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. There was ample parking on Site, and the location of the Hotel was great for exploring the town. The food was delicious, with plenty to choose from, portions were of a good size making the meal great value for money.

The room was a bit musty, lots of little moth flys around. Bathroom was fine. Wooden floors made it colder and not as comfy.

They had run out of Beef for the Sunday roast,which I had looking forward to for weeks My husband found the bed a bit uncomfortable Some of the bulbs were miss in lamps and the chandelier in the bathroom And there was a square nail sticking up from the floor boards

The only conundrum was the tV didnt see to be tuned in or the sat service was not working due to the weather. I just logged into Netflix so no issue

The food was absolutely excellent, we were meeting customers and so ate dinner, breakfast and lunch. Just really enjoyed every meal. Staff were some of the most friendly , attentive and courteous i have experienced. A great place , would look to using again.

Unfortunately the the breakfast was not up to the normal standard as we are regular customers, waiting 40 minutes bacon inedible mushroom might have been cooked the night before so disappointed as we have never had this before, I like my tea hot after breakfast but was cold by the time it came? and the lady who was in charge now seems to have a attitude problem ?? Will not stop using The crown but so disappointed????

Small room with bad view TV wouldn't connect to WiFi

Our original room was small and with a rubbish view, we complained and got upgraded to a better suite (usually would have to pay for this) on our second night free of charge. Also lost some earrings and they were kindly posted to me. Lovely staff and amazing breakfast. Beautiful room once we upgraded and great bathrooms. Troubles with getting the TV to work but they helped us fix it. Great stay and great staff.

It would have been easier if it was clear whether breakfast was included in my booking. Apparently it was not included, but I remember I included it in my booking.

Staff was very friendly and food was great. We had a nice dinner with other school families, it was a lovely environment. Breakfast the following morning was also very good quality.

There was quite a bit of creaking in the ceiling from the people above, but that’s what you get with older properties! The heating didn’t work too well but they gave us a portable heater.

The rooms and the food here are fabulous. Live music on Thursday night was great. Staff are lovely.

Stayed here 7-8March. All was fabulous this hotel is really lovely. Great feeling as you walk in with such a friendly welcoming. We were extremely lucky and given room 11 which was huge warm and spotlessly clean. Missive comfortable bed with two good pillows each. The bathroom with very large bath and overhead shower. Nice tea tray with biscuits and two small bottles of water. Had drinks in the smashing old fashioned bar that had friendly young bar staff. Beer was super nice too! Dinner in the main dining room was out of this world. Haven’t had a hotel meal that great for absolutely ages. All so so delicious so don’t miss the chance of enjoying your supper here! We didn’t have breakfast but I’d bet that it’s pretty amazing also. There is nothing to dislike about this beautiful hotel. I really wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for such a short but amazing stay. Please don’t change a thing about it we want to come back!

The walls to the bedrooms were thin and my neighbours were quite noisey. I get the authenticity and style of the hotel, but the creeking boards felt like they were walking across your own room.
