Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere were some noisy children, which were not controlled by the parents. At one point we felt that we were being pushed out of a room because “ we were in the way “. We both , love kids but they weren’t being watched at all . There was other residents that felt the same. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay. Lovely place.
Really nice place in lovely surroundings, staff were very helpful and kind.

United KingdomVictoria in Reception went out of her way to ensure my stay went well. I had unfortunately lost my phone on the way to the hotel and she went out of her way to put me in touch with the person who found it. I can't thank her enough. She is such a kind and genuine person and it really made my stay very pleasurable, knowing that someone could be as kind as this and really cared! Thank you so very much Victoria!

United KingdomThought the room decor was a bit tired. But that probably applied to the whole hotel. Its a big place and must take a lot of upkeep. Nevertheless that didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of our stay.
Location. Staff. Food. Interesting history and background of the hotel.

United KingdomNothing really. We had a smashing breakfast. I just didn't like the waste of food the mass catering generated but I understand why.
We loved the actual building and location. It was warm comfortable our room was lovely. It isn't always how modern or flashy a place is. It's a heritage property and we were more than happy to stay there and plan to stay again. It was very good value for money, I slept comfortably and the shower was excellent . In my opinion if those two things are right then it's a win for me. I had that and everthing else. We were attending a dance event at The Grand and were impressed with the facilities .

United KingdomWe loved the hotel but even though it was dog friendly there was only one room to go in. Not allowed in the bar and had to sit on our own for meals. We got charged extra too for our little dog and I had an email saying first there was no charge then another saying there was.
We loved the hotel and our veg full breakfast was super

United KingdomNot wanting to be negative, hotel is tired But still magnificent, what spoiled it was the evening meal , that being said spoke to the manager and was compensated accordingly, breakfast was much better , room was comfortable and en suite was really good , would have appreciated the heads up there was a wedding on as it pretty much dominated the outside space and considering the heat we have at the moment , that being said bar staff was spot on in assuring we could sit outside anywhere

United KingdomWe were not impressed with the food. It was an interesting mix of service and buffet self-service. Food kept hot dries out but food that is meant to be hot served on lukewarm plates tends to be cold before it can be eaten; conversely cold food should not should not be served on warm plates. Croissants and Yorkshire pudding were both tough (at different meals). On day 1 (breakfast) the only cold food apart from fruit was sliced ham and sliced cheese, on day 2 there was no such cold food at all.
View as requested from our room was beautiful. This view was however soon to be obscured by the trees below our window. We enjoyed the woodland walk.
