There was nothing to dislike, just for few bits of improvement, the drainage in the shower area was blocked and its glass door was bit clumsy. It can be improved.

We liked the location, facility inside the hotel, the family suite which was having good privacy. The view outside the room was amazing particularly while enjoying the hot tub. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed every bit of it. Plenty of parking space.

Traffic noise within the room wasn't great for a light sleeper like me but I always travel with earplugs so still got a good kip.

Attitude and manner of staff was spot on, the level of professionalism and friendliness felt genuine at all times. Didn't treat the consumables in the room like they're gold plated like most hotels. Enough toilet rolls to last a week, plenty of shower gels soaps etc, and no shortage of tea and coffee Biscuits.

The pool and gym could do with some upgrade. Also cleaners could have cleaned the bathroom every day instead of just making beds.

Damson Dene was fantastic. Staff were great, food was fab. The kids loved the pool and gym!

The room was dated and in poor repair. Did not look like the pictures. Cracks and damage to the wall, crack to the ceiling, damage in the bathroom, broken window latches, mould on the ceiling. Bathroom very tired.

Good location and parking. Nice restaurant, really good evening meals and a nice breakfast. Good to have different seating areas like in front of the fire and the family room. Friendly staff

Breakfast was difficult being a solo traveller with a dog. The breakfast was in the restaurant but dogs are only allowed in the bar understandably. I couldn’t go and get any of the continental breakfast as I couldn’t leave my dog and couldn’t take her in. Made things slightly awkward and ended up having to put her in the car whilst I got my breakfast stuff .

The hotel was lovely. The meals were lovely. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location was nice and the grounds were pretty. The room was large and included a bath and shower which was a nice surprise. The pool was a bit cold but still lovely.

It was a very busy weekend and car parking was quite limited, no set lines on where to park but people putting their vehicles anywhere, can make it quite tight to get the car out too. We did browse the facilities and the ladies changing room was a little worn down and could do with a touch up. Room walls are paper thin, can hear your neighbours having a chit chat. Shower in the room is very very small, quite tight to move around in and if you have long hair, you’re knocking your arms on the walls trying to wash it! General decorations in the room were nice but again could do with a little uplift. Booked breakfast for 8am and on arrival there were a couple of other tables but the amount of staff was more. It did feel like you were being watched to finish your food so that they could make use of how many there was. - Maybe later breakfast times are busier. One key is provided for the room but i’m sure a second could be given if asked.

The location & grounds of the hotel are truly beautiful. Breakfast was lovely, with the option to book a time on arrival. View from room was beautiful, seeing the lamb running in the field! Staff are very friendly.

I paid for a room with double and single bed. I got a double and a bunk bed. Fortunately not an issue because it was just me, but had my friend joined it would have been an issue and not what I expected.

Whilst the log fire was lovely in the reception area, it did have the disadvantage the smoke found its way to the upstairs landing area above where it was more noticeable. Maybe the chimney needs attention.
