Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery little to complain of - there is no microwave which is slightly inconvenient, some nicer / larger mugs to drink from would be nice , and as an artist, I would have preferred landscapes to senoritas, but that's just me : ) It is a little difficult to find and up a narrow lane, but that's expected in the countryside - Google Maps will lead you there - though I recommend not switching the directions on until you are on the A388. As a clue, you turn where you see the name or signs to 'Countryman Cider'.
Exceeded my expectations - I was thinking it would be a chalet amongst others or part of a multiple accommodation complex, in fact it is a period property, a huge self-contained flat above a stable block, attached to the main part of the house where the host lives, but very private and quiet. It has a large kitchen with granite fireplace, wood burner, lovely high windows letting in lots of light, an enormous living room with a pool table and TV, and two bedrooms. The building is part of a delightful old rectory set in landscaped fields and gardens with amazing views over to the parish church. Magnus our host was so helpful at all times and his dog Henry was such a sweetie. The main bedroom had the most comfortable and super wide bed I have slept in outside of a fourstar hotel, my husband is very tall and usually suffers in holiday accommodation beds but he was very pleased with it! There is a terrace with table and patio chairs to sit out, horses in the fields and quick access to both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor areas, North Cornwall coast, Tavistock and Launceston the nearest pretty towns. Tranquil and beautiful location - will stay again if we can!

It was self catering, but Magnus provided eggs, bread, milk and quite a few other groceries for us, which was above and beyond what we expected. Excellent

United KingdomAbsolutely superb accommodation for lovers of the countryside, set in a truly beautiful location and providing some great facilities. A well-maintained country house with loads of space both inside and outside, making it ideal for some quick walks with our dog as well. The house was clean and comfortable, and we particularly loved the pool table and the wood burner, which kept the dining room really warm. Magnus, the host, was very helpful and accommodating to our requests, making our stay truly hassle-free - the dogs were lovely too and made our little pooch super welcome! Definitely worth visiting again in the spring/summer as the house's location is ideal for daily trips to numerous nearby destinations in both Devon and Cornwall.

United KingdomIt's a bit colder in the living room than in the rest of the house, which is a bit bothersome with children, but it's that time of year.
Very beautiful surroundings. Peace and quiet. The owner was very nice and helpful. Dogs very friendly. There was fresh bread, eggs, milk, butter, jam and Nutella for the children waiting for us in the house, for which we are very grateful :) There was a billiard table in the living room, so it was a big plus for this entertainment.A charming house where we felt at home.

United KingdomThe stairs to the apartment were steep and difficult when getting suitcases up and down, but not a real problem for us, it might be for some people though.
The apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, and Magnus provided artisan bread, butter, milk, fresh farm eggs, tea, coffee and condiments which was very generous. Loved having the pool table to entertain us in the evenings especially as the tv reception was very poor/non existent. Made a nice change to not watch tv actually. We loved Magnus’s two dobermans and enjoyed seeing his horses in the fields around this stunning property.

United KingdomNo microwave.. I took food with me to heat up, we managed but would have been easier with one. It was a little cold in the main sitting room, eventhough radiators were warm, we could only get BBC 1 and 2 on TV the other chanels kept breaking up.
Host was very nice and accommodating, lovely space, peaceful, we had fresh bread, farm eggs and milk on arrival, told us of a lovely pub for dinner, Castle inn was excellent, my granddaughter watched the horses being shoed. And we all had cuddles with the dogs.

The remote location in a glorious setting but relatively close to Tavistock and Launceston was exceptional. The spaciousness of the apartment was a pleasant surprise.

United KingdomThe attitude of the host. He was rude from the start to the point that although we pre-paid for 4 days we left after 2. He is totally unsuitable to host guests. We also think he may have had covert CCTV cameras installed inside. He has 2 big Doberman dogs that can be intimidating. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you like a challenge.

United KingdomOn arrival, we were greeted by the homeowner Angus which then led us to our accommodation. He asked us to take off our trainers at the bottom of the stairs, which quite surprised me because and stairs were very worn and had seen better days. He then proceeded to take us upstairs where we had to go from the lounge and walk through a bedroom to get access to the bathroom and kitchen to get to the next bedroom ! my colleague was not impressed that I had to keep on walking through his bedroom to get to the kitchen or to my bedroom, I can’t understand how they can class this as a two bedroom stay.. Please be aware of the steep stairs, I twisted my ankle very badly as there is a indent under the mat at the bottom of the stairs ( photo attached) which forced us to go home after the first night .. when I messaged Angus of this incident, his contradictory replied saying that he can see the indent and will get it filled in that day, but can’t understand how I did it !
