Some guests were a bit noisy walking along corridor talking very very loudly at 3am!

Breakfast was very good but service was very slow. The last twice we’ve been there it was only £3 extra for cooked breakfast but was charged £7 extra on this last visit.

They demand a photocopy of your ID. Others hotels don't ask for this. For this reason I won't be back.

Wait time to check in far too long. One person operating the restaurant and reception. Granted it was St Patrick's weekend and was always going to be busy, there was not enough staff on shift. We went down for a drink in reception after we checked in but were left standing at the bar for 15 minutes without any service.

Bathroom as small as I would be comfortable with, but commensurate with the bargain room rate - still acceptable.

Room exactly as pictured - clean and comfortable - great location for our needs on this trip with free private parking a bonus in the west end. Bar and restaurant facilities on site and lots of other options within 5 minutes walk.

at the reception we were asked for 100 pounds deposit in case of damage caused to the room, to be returned in weeks. That was not indicated in the reservation and was totally unexpected.

The car parking situation is ridiculous. Smallest car park, not suitable for big cars and people unable to get past to get out. They really need to address this as for me it would mean I wouldn't go back despite the hotel itself being great.

No leg room when using toilet. Thin walls, could hear other guests.

They take £100 off your card and hold it in a pending account in case of any damage, which it states can take up to 7 days to go back on to your balance. This means your available funds are down by that amount and that could be a problem for some. The room was very cold and we were told the heating doesn't come on until 6pm. The shower frame was held together with duct tape so the doors didn't close properly and the flusher handle on the toilet was broken. There was also a big iron burn in the carpet and because of the damage deposit, we felt compelled to take photo's and mention them to the receptionist so that we wouldn't get blamed! There were only two staff on at breakfast and one of those was on his first day so we had to ask for the butter to be topped up and side plates had run out.

Location was great for the SSE Hydro (around 15 minutes away), and some lovely little bars. Continental breakfast was included and was pretty decent, but could upgrade to a cooked breakfast for £7, which is very reasonable and was really good. Perfect poached eggs 😋

The check in process was pretty chaotic and took longer than expected. There was confusion about whether breakfast was included in the rate I had paid.

Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Plus for a city centre hotel very quiet. The hotel is well located for visiting the Ovo Hydro with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.
