To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaNo small fridge in the room, had to put our cold food and milk downstairs 2 floors, when we were leaving the room the fridge was in was locked and had to ring the night bell to get someone to unlock the door. Plastic throw away glasses in the bathroom.
Location was great walking distance to the main area. Had most things needed in the room, very basic. Had off street parking. Old and tired but clean.

United KingdomBreakfast was disappointing. For example, why would the toast be brought to the table at the start of the meal? By the time you got to the toast and marmalade course, it was cold! On the other hand, the plates were piping hot, though the main course portions were meagre. Not really worth £9 pp. Linen table cloths - excellent. Cutlery - dirty. One hour for breakfast time may be acceptable for businessmen on weekdays; but for weekend holiday-makers, 1 hour is too short.
Our room - a standard double room (no 7) - was excellent in every possible way - clean, comfortable, and the en-suite was excellent. A second WC was next door along in the corridor, in case we both needed "to go" at the same time! We'd ask for the same room again next time. Room 7 is on the third floor; beware if you don't like stairs (there is no lift).

It was clean, warm and well-run. The bed was comfortable. Free parking and on the edge of the Town Centre, in a quiet location and easy to find. Booked a time for breakfast and it was freshly cooked. I will stay there again. I had a meeting in Birmingham, where hotels are expensive and the traffic is jammed up. The hotel is 5 minutes from the station and I went in that way. Less stress, lower price. There is a real 'Free House" pub 5 mins walk. Everything was perfect for me.

The sausage @ breakfast was better than expected. (but only 1!). Bed very comfortable. I asked for a quiet room and got one. Excellent VFM (value for money). I stayed for 2 nights and towels / soap were changed after the 1st night - I didn't expect that.

We was welcomed and was waved goodbye to. It was definitely worth the amount we spent. The beds are very comfortable and the room layout was good. Definitely would book here again :)
