We had to move rooms as the WiFi in our original room didn’t work at all. There were no plug sockets in our room by the bed. The sensor for the barrier in the car park didn’t work so every time we had to leave the property with the car we had to go back inside and get a staff member to come and let us out

No sockets near beds for plugging in phones, door handle loose, dirty mark on curtains, heated towel rail in bathroom fixed with gaffer tape, no hairdryer. Overall rather dated but it was fine for a 1 night stop over.

Unfortunately our room was not what expected. The hotel looks very tired and the room was cold as heating on a timer and smelt damp. But after we talked to reception a different room was accepted in another part of the hotel which was warmer and more comfortable.

The "hot" water was cold and so was the shower (even though the reception manager informed me of the fact that the boiler was next door to my room).

The suite was spacious and I enjoyed the decor! 😊 Reception manager was very welcoming and helpful. The bed was softer than I prefer, but still provided a good night's sleep. My eggs and bacon breakfast was delicious. Parking on the grounds was helpful.

The room was dated and in need of some TLC, my wife found a large dead spider in the first draw she opened so would open and use any of them, the bathroom decor was questionable and the room it self looked tired and in need of revamp, not what I was expecting for the room we chose.

Apparently the restaurant is not operational on Mondays and Tuesdays which the booking.com website did not state - this was very inconvenient as I was travelling from a work after a workshop and would like to have relaxed in a bar and had something to eat

The bathroom had a few cracks and could fo eith a revamp - but liked the old fashioned style.

The staff were great, especially James who took great care of us. The room where we ate was beautifully decorated and so roomy. Food was amazing!

The only downside to this hotel was that there was some damaged items in the room I was given, nothing too major just little chips/scratches but it did affect the look of the room a little bit. Everything else was really good though and just what I needed for the few days I was visiting.

I would recommend this hotel for sure! The staff here are so friendly, polite and helpful ... Always a smile and a greeting at the door when you come in/leave. And they were super lovely with my dog making him feel comfortable in a new place with treats and claps every time they saw him, he had a great time here.
