The only ‘down’ was the en-suite bathroom was a bit smelly - probably because of the macerator toilet. It would have been nice to have had some air freshener in there.

The breakfast was excellent, the waitress very pleasant and cheerful. The location was excellent for what we wanted, just outside Scarborough.

Room wasn't clean, tooth floss sticks on floor, crisp pack under bed and bathroom bin full when we arrived.

Lovely staff room nice food delicious what more could you ask for.. Only gripe dogs allowed in tuckers bar which is fine you are aware of that but when owners are too busy looking at their phones that their dog wanders off and decides to mooch around under your table not nice while your eating but that’s the owners fault not the hotels technology eh……put your phones down and talk to your partners instead it’s called socialising😂😂

Great facilities, great food- amazing steak and ale pie and staff were brilliant. Needed an early breakfast and they were happy to provide a fabulous serve yourself continental breakfast.

It needs updating. The sofa bed was thin and dangerous. The pillows were terrible, in a flat lump. The curtains were hanging off on both windows. It was clean though.

The village and the building is beautiful, it's drenched in history.

Breakfast was really poor, milk had to be sent back as it was off, and there was a party on Saturday night which went on till midnight, which meant that we couldn't get to sleep.

Ideal location (with large car park) for visiting Pickering, Scarborough, Malton, Bridlington, Bempton Cliffs etc.. Good sized room with free WiFi (albeit a intermittent signal but the weather was grotty!), shower room with complimentary toiletries. We were pleasantly surprised that the room was serviced daily - most places we have stopper in since the pandemic no longer service room unless requested. Staff were all friendly, polite and helpful - very supportive with meeting dietary needs so had a choice of breakfasts (and we chose to eat there at night as the menu was varied and reasonably priced.)

The breakfast room was a bit dated, the room doesn't feel very inviting, tables and chairs just seemed to be all over the place, The walk in shower in our room was very slow at draining away the water, I had to stop mu shower so I didn't flood the bathroom.

The location was great, it had some stunning views and walks, the food was beautiful and tasty you couldn't fault it, great value for money too. Great breakfast too with good selection of food.

Lovely cosy room, great breakfast, separate area for dogs, on the main road into Scarborough, in a quiet tiny village.... would stay again...and a busy stop right outside, if you want a drink in Scarborough....

The restaurant was cool at breakfast time ,but it was at the end of January, so that was understandable.

The room was great. We stayed in a superior room with a four poster bed and plenty of space. It had a view along the street into the village and was very comfortable. The food, particularly the dinners, was outstanding.

The room was a bit cramped. We travel with our dogs and take an indoor soft crate for them and were left with little space. However, this seems to be common when booking pet friendly rooms.

Location was good. Breakfast was brilliant. Staff were friendly.

Everything and everyone was lovely and kind, few cleaning issues, spider, cobwebs and dust but that’s just me being picky.

Beautiful place and area, close if you wanted to go to the beach, 10 min drive away.

Cleaning could be a little better, found food under the dressing table. Room furniture is incomplete. There was only one bedside table in a double room. Staff were on occasion absent. Had to go in search of them for service. Staff need to give a more professional approach to guests until they know it is acceptable to be more friendly and laid back.

Value for money accommodation, comfortable bed. Both the evening meal and breakfast were quality and generous in potions
