The grout in the bathroom and the bathroom ceiling were mouldy. The towels were rather tatty. It let down what was otherwise a fantastic room and a luxurious place to stay. It would’ve been nice to have an information pack.

Lovely room, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The view out over the patio and pond was lovely. A very comfortable bed. The tea tray was replenished daily and the room was also cleaned. The shower was really powerful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking. Nice walks around the hotel, and plenty to do in the area.

We waited 20 minutes before someone came to reception. There is no information in the room to tell you where to go for breakfast or when. Coffee and tea portions were a bit measly!

Very attractive house and grounds, excellent smokehouse restaurant next door. Would be a great wedding location with great photo opportunities including lovely panelled and furnished rooms.

The restaurant was closed on the nights I stay, and although my room was marvellous, it made me stay in it.

Could be a bit more generous with milk for making tea / coffee in bedrooms.

Period styling of the house and rooms. Comfy beds. Good restaurant next door to hotel. Good off-road parking.

Two things: 1. The wifi went off late on Thursday and was still not working the following morning. 2. I was woken up at 0700 by what sounded like a member of staff and a guest having a very lively conversation in loud voices right below me. I would expect staff to keep the noise level low early in the morning as not all guests are early risers.

    Almost everything

The mattress on the bed was terrible, you could feel the springs and it didn't matter what side you slept on you felt like you were going to roll out of bed sleeping in the middle of the bed felt like you were sleeping on a mound, didn't sleep a wink

The hotel was beautiful, very historic, the staff were very friendly and helpful, my room was lovely , will definitely stay again but will ask for a different room next time

Loved the building and the feel about the place, but the room was a little dated and shabby in areas. However it was clean and comfortable and the facilities were all there.

Window seat upholstery was torn. The bath was lovely, but there were no operating instructions on the Jacuzzi jets. (I’ve never stayed anywhere with a Jacuzzi bath!) I didn’t use them because I wasn’t sure how they operated, but they came on intermittently of their own accord as the bath was draining and I couldn’t turn them off. After a few cycles they eventually stopped.

Beautiful historic hotel, well preserved. Each room is charming and respectfully decorated while still having modern amenities. Huge amazing bath in mine as well as a little window seat. Room fine, inevitable compromise in access to bathroom as it is an old building modified. Breakfast was unconventional and in a restaurant across the carpark.

The house and gardens very attractive and the 'feel' good

There wasn't really anything I didn't like. There was no one on reception on arrival and they didn't come when we rang the bell. Eventually the receptionist arrived and booked us in.

The room was lovely and beautifully furnished. It was nice and cosy once we worked out how to turn the heat up. There was only 1 chair (which was comfy) which meant one of us had to sit on the bed. This was fine though as there were cushions as well as pillows on the bed. The bathroom was wonderfully furnished, spacious and clean. Best shower EVER! Really good warm blast of water. Person or recption was very helpful and friendly.

Just a little cold (only because the room has very high ceilings and it was a rainy, windy night!).

Lovely room - the Delft Room - very historic and interesting to be in the old part of this hotel. A kettle, tea and coffee in the room is a bonus. Lots of free parking outside.
