We only stayed here one night and couldn’t take advantage of the free breakfast, but it was a very affordable and comfortable stay. There were three of us and we weren’t staying in the same building, but that was fine. Staff were very friendly and gave good instructions on where to park and which building we were staying. Would like to stay a bit longer next time.

It is a 30 minute walk for the main sites of Edinburgh. There is a bus station very nearby though.

Clean rooms in beautiful surrounding. Made me feel like a college student again. Breakfast was great and plentiful - canteen style. I had a room with a beautiful view. Also private bathroom. Nice hot water and even towel heaters.

This is not a problem of the place, but I had noisy and disrespectful room neighbors, who screamed drunkenly at 3 in the morning. It is part of the charm, I guess.

It is a clean and very comfortable place. It is a bit far from the center and I loved that, because you can get to know a part of the city without tourists. The breakfast is great!

Matress was very bed. Very soft, painful back. Shower was shared, but also not so very good.

It was a lot cheaper than other accommodation in Edinburgh and huge breakfast. The restaurant on campus is very decent and modestly priced!

The bathroom smelled like urine, but otherwise the room was decent for a night.

The cost and location were what led us to book our stay at the university. The free breakfast was lovely.

During our stay there were a couple of large groups of teenagers, probably on some summer language schools, staying in the dorms. It wasn't a big problem for us, but with over 100-150 kids around you will experience quite some noise, so be prepared. Some fresh vegetables at the breakfast buffet would be nice.

Staying at this big student dorm was an interesting and generally pretty good experience. The room wasn't big, but it was designed in a smart way with plenty of storage and seating. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast hall was big, and the food was good - quite a lot of warm options, including some Scottish food. The location just next to the Holyrood park was great (we went up the Salisbury Crags twice, as it inly takes 20 min), although it is a longer walk away from the castle, Princess Street etc. There are multiple bus lines that you can use to get there though.

Bed is very soft, not too comfortable for sleeping.

Accommodation is located in beautiful grounds, easily accessible by public transport. Room is small but adequately furnished, bed is single and soft, reasonably comfortable. Room was spotless and bright with small sink. Shared toilet and shower in hallway, easily accessible. Elevator to all four floors. In the grounds there are eating places - pub type and restaurant. Reception area well staffed, staff are pleasant and efficient. Overall excellent set up.

There is a shop but was closed the morning I was looking for a bottle of water. No water in the vending machine either. Although the area seemed very safe, I wouldn't walk late at night from the bustop on my own the only reason being that the area is very quiet. But would definitely recommend this accommodation and would stay here again.

It was easy to get into the city, about 25 minutes to walk or about 15 minutes on the bus (bus stop around the corner). Staff were friendly and the breakfast was exceptional (far better than the majority of hotels I've stayed in) . Especially loved the fact that vegetarian sausages and haggis were available as standard. Beautiful scenery of Arthur's seat right beside it.

Breakfast can be very busy if timed with a big school or tour group

It is set in a lovely location a bit of of town (1.2km) and at the foot of Arthur's Seat, which was great to explore and we found local pubs and eateries. The room (twin) was large and very comfortable and nice ensuite. Breakfast was fab!

As its a student accommodation, rooms were old. The bed was making noises and also you could hear everything from outside- people coming into their rooms, wc ect. Doors were loud and kept me awake. The bathroom was old as well..clean tho.

The breakfast was really good!! Great variety and tasty! It was around 20mins far from city centre

You need to pack your own toiletries and kitchen in the bar closes early. It’s just something to keep in mind.

I needed an economical place to sleep between my layover. You’re basically staying in a dorm and it’s clean and you have your own room with a sink.

We did have to take the bus to go to the centre. But they were right outside campus and the drive not long. It worked well with the ticket app.

The rooms were like a hotel room with twin beds, and the beds were really comfy. Also nice pillows. I liked the view and the breakfast and the value for money and the friendliness of the staff. Nice touch that the reception is available 24/7 even though these are actually dorm rooms

There is no good sound-isolation, so from 7.30am there are some noises (doors were opening and closing). Also, the boiler (teapot) was very old, the toilet was not clean enough and there was some strange smell (it wasn't very strong, but still) in the room

There were all that is nessasary to spend a night. Good location, amazing Scottish breakfast.
