How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was TINY and oh so dark. No room to get around without knocking your shins. Not able to really relax in a room this size. 😞
Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Servers were very attentive. Glad there was a car park on site.

The room was cramped - will go for a bigger room next time.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good quality breakfast - didn't have the opportunity to have dinner during our stay. Spacious public rooms.

Other residents could be a bit more respectful and keep quiet when going to their rooms late. Signs clearly state to be quiet but some people don’t care if they are loud or not.
Room was clean and tidy, food was very good, staff were very friendly and easy to chat to.

More tea at breakfast time please!

The noise right through the night coming through from the vellux windows .....we also had to ask for towels, toilet roll and a couple of glasses. The tea tray was very sparse and no tea spoons or coffee sachets.
Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and good portions. The only drawback ,our room had vellux windows on the ceiling and we're a nightmare to operate. It was also very noisy at night as some sort of fan or cooling system could be heard non stop for hours, it was even louder if the window was open so I got very little sleep.

A little noisy the last time I stayed. My room was near one of the hallway doors, and it seems guests were just letting it go, causing it to slam. If possible, I'd look into something, making it close quietly or even holding it open.
This hotel is a regular for me. Always feels relaxing and very welcoming. Nothing is too much for them, and the breakfast is great!

Road noise but no fault of hotel .Eaglesham is a lot busier than it used to be Restaurant on Sunday evening had run out of several items on menu….disappointing

We provided feedback, not hugely negative, but our room was next door to a water closet or something because the noise of other rooms running water kept us awake and woke us up every night and morning.
This is my fourth stay here, as I visit my family who live close by. They staff are great, food is good, location perfect and the hotel and surrounding area has everything you need for a break away.

The fact that I had to check out - other than that, it was brilliant and I need to make an excuse to arrange another stay.
I stayed for three nights and didn't want to leave, as everything about the hotel was amazing. As a B&B owner myself, I appreciate what the have to do, albeit on a smaller scale, but all of the staff were welcoming, helpful and professional with just a 'smidgeon' of humour.
