My, hopefully constructive comments above point out minor areas for consideration.

Breakfast. Good selection if cooked breakfast not wanted and very pleasant generous hot breakfast provided by helpful pleasant member of staff. Room. On the small side but well equipped and lovely and warm! En suite bathroom rather small as was step in shower. Floor tended to be slippy especially when slightly wet. Thus, in my opinion, a nonslip shower mat should have been part of the supply in bathroom. In these days with more elderly folk holidaying, many with some mobility issues I would suggest safe hand holds for access and safety worth considering - but lack of these would not stop me returning! A constructive suggestion, not a complaint. Facilities. Off Site Gym Not used so no comment. Not aware of any lounge or lounge bar etc and only food available is the ample pleasant breakfast.

Great location in Windermere, handy for shops, pubs and restaurants. The staff were very attentive, helpful and seemed a very close knit team. Great choice of breakfast which set us up for the day. Use of great facilities at the Damson Dene Hotel was a real plus! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends.

Our bathroom hadn't been cleaned to a great standard, but asides from that it was absolutely fine. The hotel is a bit dated and could do with some renovations, but nothing that impacted the stay or comfort. Breakfast on the first day took quite a while to come, but potentially unavoidable if several guests arrive around the same time; the 2nd morning it was super quick.

Great location, tasty breakfast and comfortable rooms + great to have the health centre in the sister hotel - nice sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool to unwind after lots of cycling in the day. Beds were comfortable; decent towels and plenty of room.

Staff aren’t around and you have to ring them using the phone at reception if you need them. There were quite a few dead flies around the room and couldn’t use the blinds, as the roller for them broke apart. Didn’t feel 100% safe, as the key for my room also worked for the main door, so with travelling alone this made me uneasy. Staff were very friendly when they were around, but again, I only saw staff on my arrival, once during my stay and during departure.

The location was perfect and was very happy to receive a free room upgrade for my birthday.

I did not like the excessive mould in the bathroom esp on the shower tiles. It was grim and plentiful. I was even considering buying some black mould spray just to get rid of it. I also saw alot of dog hairs in the corner of the bathroom floor, also on the carpet and on the bed sheets. This was very off putting considering I very much dislike animal hair anywhere that I am laying my head or using. The headboard smelled so bad of other people's scalp and unwashed hair. Would recommend changing this to a wipeable fabric/surface. The walls are also super thin. Could hear everything from next door as if they were in my room. Some nights couldn't sleep due to hearing people talking up to 1am 😖

I liked how friendly the staff were. Very accommodating and the breakfast had plenty of variety to eat. Food very delicious. The bed was comfortable and the room size was OK for me as a single guest.

The four poster bed was very creaky! Even just getting into it, creaked so bad you didn’t dare role over.

The location was excellent and it was really nice to be able to go to the leisure centre too. The staff were amazing.

Would have been good to know room booked or something somerooms in general have really low sloped ceilings at 6ft 6 wasn't ideal being 2ft away from toilet when head hits roof
