Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bed mattress needs replacing. They are thin and worn. Water was scalding hot, and needs warning near taps.
Very conveniently situated and has a large car park. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The Bar area was comfy. Service was a little slow in the evening as the barman doubled up as door security and reception. Breakfast was good though the menu was not clear. It only offered fried eggs until the waitress told us they could be poached or scrambled. Overall, it's a good place to stay. It could be a brilliant hotel with a bit of TLC. It just needs updating.

The hotel is rather dated and could do with some refreshment overall.
The room provided the basic requirements for an overnight stop. the hotel is conveniently located close to the motorway into Liverpool. The evening meal and breakfast were of good quality and the staff helpful and pleasant.

Fought the room was a bit dark and dour , felt like a fresh coat of paint wouldn't go missing , bright and vibrant colours would help the room and from a energy point of view not having to have the lights on during daytime would save you, breakfast was cooked well and very nice but the price was a bit steep and to be punished a extra 3quid in the morning if you decide also you may only have a bowl of cornflakes £15 for a bowl of cornflakes really, imagine a family of 4, nearly 60quid for breakfast dearer than the room
Seem a strange pricing structure for breakfast,was told when I checked in it was £12 but if I decided to leave it to the morning and see how I feel it was £15 , bit pricey if you only having a couple of Weetabix, think you need to look how you price breakfast

Our room smelt like someone had smoked 40 cigarettes A joint room with someone who kept their tv on till 5 am (not the hotels fault) Seemed like a double bed with a king size mattress on

If you are thinking of the £20 2 course menu, do the maths first. I worked out 6 different combinations and with the supplement costs, all of them came to more than just paying straight off the menu.
Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Food was beautiful.

The hotel was quiet, however they didn't make the effort not to allocate the small number guests right next to each other. Because of this I had to listen to the telly of my neighbour the whole evening...
The location and parking were super convenient to me. The staff was polite and professional.

The bed wasn't comfy and the rooms do need a bit of a refresh.
Breakfast was lovely. Communal areas were clean and looked better than 3 star. Room was basic but expected as we had a dog with us.

Bed hard, room too hot and couldn't change the temperature. Control for the television needed to be pushed hard to change channels. No shampoo, phone and very little tea in the room(mainly coffee) so I had to ask at reception. No lift which is difficult when disabled..

The room was not very warm on arrival but after turning on the radiator it felt more comfortable.

This is a little way out of Widnes but close to a fast road link to Liverpool. The breakfast we good and served in the restaurant on site which also does evening meals (untested). There is plenty of free parking at the front of the hotel.
