Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAll the staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much bother and they were always at hand if needed. Continental breakfast was delicious with the option to purchase hot breakfast rolls (sausage, bacon, egg). We stayed for 2 nights after driving the NC500 and found it a good base to explore the local area on foot and a short drive to Loch Ness. The accommodation is self catering, we were able to order pizza delivery to the main door. There are also other takeaways a short drive away.

United KingdomI booked a family room but was surprised to finf 4 single beds. Husband and I pushed 2 together to make a double which worked ok. There are dog water bowls outside but they are always empty, mine was dissapointed every time he reached one. I wish there was non cash option to leave a tip for staff as they truly deserved it but we had no cash.
The staff are simply fantastic at this property, super friendly, accomodating and helpful with anything you need. We did not reallise until our stay but we could take out mountain bikes from the property with no extra cost which gave us one of the best days of this whole 2 week holiday. Property and the grounds are lovely. Our room was good, had everything we needed. There is a common area downstairs where you can use microvave to have dinner at night. Lots of great places to visit, hike or bike near by. Wi-fi through the property. Breakfast was really nice, continential we found was more then enough for us. The North Coast coffee that you can order as an extra I truly enjoyed and recommend!

AustraliaNot something we didn’t like about the property itself but just something to be aware of. Many families were staying at the same time as us who had small children & so we were woken up to laughing & running down the hall - not a bad alarm if you ask me but some may want to sleep in!
Loved the serenity of the natural surroundings && the many activity options available to us!

United KingdomOnly the fact there was no wi-fi.
The breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate. Black coffee, toast (white or brown) cereal, fruit, yogurt, croissants, fresh fruit. You can order other breakfast options and fancy coffees at an additional cost. We stayed in one of the glamping pods which was nice and cosy,

United KingdomThe midges!! Take insect repellant with you
The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee provided in rooms. Had a small fan as room very hot(imagine scotland having its 3rd heatwave of the year !) The continental breakfast was included in price and had a great range. Additionally, you could purchase hot rolls porridge pancakes off an additional menu. Some activities to choose from at an additional cost, lovely walks , and the use of mountain bikes. I only tried the archery, which I loved, and the instructor was very good. Area is nice and quiet and the staff were lovely.

United Arab EmiratesWe are travelling the north of Scotland. One adult and two children. I initially booked Fairburn as there are activities and as I wasn’t sure how the children would enjoy sightseeing thought this was a great option. However due to planned off sight activities we didn’t get to experience what was on offer. However we loved the accommodation (basic almost youth hostel feel - which we liked). Breakfast was great and staff were lovely.

PolandThere was a jacuzzi-style bath in the room, which was a surprise since I hadn’t expected it – but when I turned it on, there was a strong unpleasant smell, so I chose not to use it. It wasn’t a big issue, but worth mentioning in case someone was specifically looking forward to that feature.
Absolutely fantastic stay – highly recommended! The staff were truly exceptional – always smiling, attentive and genuinely helpful. They went above and beyond on several occasions: they provided a secure spot for my bike without hesitation, and even packed me a takeaway breakfast for a day when I was out early. It’s rare to feel this well looked after. The breakfast itself was a lovely experience – freshly made toast and warm croissants served right to the table, alongside a generous spread of fruits, muffins, yoghurts and unlimited coffee refills. A perfect start to the day! The location is another big plus – peaceful and quiet, surrounded by beautiful views, and a great base for exploring the area. Everything about my stay felt relaxed and welcoming. Did I mention how amazing the staff were? Because they really made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, kindness and calm.

United KingdomIt was all good and within my expectations. Perfect accommodation for a lone motorcyclist touring the Highlands.
Location is fantastic. I was late arriving due to the distance travelled from home (Stafford). The staff had left the keys to the glamping pod and instructions. Breakfast was good.
