Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHeating policy (i.e. off) seems to be dictated by calender rather than weather. Staff turned on the radiator (for an hour) then advised we use the small air heater. No heating whatsoever in bathroom.
Staff were excellent. Food very good, with plenty of choice.

United KingdomThe only minor comment I could make for consideration was the hotel seemed a little bit tired. The shower in our room wasn’t high enough to properly get under and the fittings / decor a bit disjointed / mismatched. Just thought a little extra attention to detail could take the hotel to the next level. Saying all that, we loved our stay at Findon Manor and hope to stay there again sometime.
Location was great. Only 10 minutes from Worthing/family and away from noise so very quiet at night and in the morning. Best of all was how accessible the lovely large garden was from our bedroom with our dog. Able to sit out in the evening and morning to enjoy the stars and the morning sunshine. (We got lucky with the weather!) Very friendly, helpful staff and lovely breakfast away from the other guests so we could relax with our dog.

United KingdomThe electric shower in the bathroom was a bit feeble but there was a shower attachment fed by the mains hot water that you can use to supplement it. This is the only reason that I didn't give full marks to the facilities and comfort.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help me get the most out of my break. The breakfast menu was superb with a wide number of choices. I had the Eggs Royale the first day, which were perfectly cooked and presented and the Full Sussex Breakfast the next day, which again could not have been cooked better. I was supplied with a pack lunch to my specification and a flask of tea for my walk up to Chanctonbury Ring, one of two Iron Age forts in the area. The room was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was clean and the towels were fluffy. The windows had sturdy plastic slatted blinds that blocked out most light, very useful in the morning. I had an evening meal served in the bar, which again was excellent and from a varied menu. Sophie, Kate and Mathew were excellent hosts and very responsive to guests needs.

United KingdomEmpty glasses were left on the tables in the lounge area all evening. These could have been quickly and easily cleared, tables wiped and cushions plumped regularly to keep the area looking fresh. This is the first thing you see as you walk into the hotel and should be kept orderly to give a good first impression.
Nice quiet country location, the open fire in the lounge area was nice to cosy up by and enjoy a drink from the bar, the food was very tasty and well presented.

United KingdomThe quality of the work of the plumber in the bathroom, and the fact that it the temperature in the shower could not be lo lowered to a comfortable level. Almost scalding. I suspect the hard water is seizing the temperature controller in the tap mixer, which as it is on the far side of the bath will be almost impossible to sort out. If the taps were at one end of the bath, and if the side panel was screwed to a frame, and not attached by ugly, very poorly applied silicone, "things" would be much simpler, Try a new plumber! (A commercial water-softener could well be a worthwhile investment in the long run. All my family have them, and would not be without. Everything works better including, and especially the heating system!) I have stayed with you a few times in the past, and have always enjoyed the experience.
Almost everything. Cheerful staff. Comfort

United KingdomWe asked for a walk in shower but had a shower over a bath which the water only dribbled out of. Told this was going to be sorted when the room was done in the future.

United KingdomWater pressure
We recently stayed for our wedding nights. I used the suite to get ready in the morning - the staff could not have been more helpful. The water pressure in my room was not up to par so they immediately helped me utilize a different room. Every member of staff we met was so helpful and went so far in making our stay feel special. Our three year old daughter stayed with us, and was made to feel so welcome at every turn. The Findon Manor is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. And although some aspects are perhaps a little tired (and the water pressure could be better) we will definitely recommend and look to stay again!

United KingdomThe bathroom floor had a suspicious looking brown mark nxt to the toilet and what looked like mouthwash spilt all down the basin cabinet. I cleaned both. I did tell a member of staff but may as well not bothered. It was very cold in the room where we had condensation all over the windows as the radiators barely went on. It was also really cold in the restaurant in the evenings.
The location was perfect. We had a lovely evening meal.

United KingdomThe room was very cold upon arrival (5.30pm). Was told that the heating went on at 6pm and that there was a heater in the wardrobe - the same response given the month before also.
The bedrooms were lovely, all individual and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were lovely.

United KingdomSingle glazing made our room very chilly, but the duvet was super warm and cozy, so I still had a wonderful night's sleep. The bath wasn't the luxurious experience I was expecting, but we were only there for a night.
The staff were the most friendly people! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. The breakfast was a highlight - generous portions and absolutely delicious. (We had the full Sussex breakfast and the Smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs - highly recommend)

United KingdomSo cold and not much effort to make it warmer. Coldest night of the year, but no effort made to make it warmer.. The restaurant wasn't that warm at dinner, nor at breakfast and neither was the bedroom.Fire in lounge kept on going out.
