Perfect place for an overnight stay in and around Ambleside and Grasmere. Stayed in room 9, which was very spacious, had a super comfy bed and a great bathroom with a large shower. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice available. Did not use the bar area or eat in the evening, so cannot comment on that part. Staff were very attentive. Overall, very good value for money and would definitely recommend staying here

    Nothing at all. Was 10/10

A unique and unusual building literally built onto the cliff. Staff are out of this world and make the place what it is. Most amazing all road experience we have had. The food is outstanding. Big portions and super fast service. 100% going back.

Easy to find great location. Staff very friendly. Food in the evening was amazing best meal I have had in a while would recommend the pork. My partner had a double burger and was defeated by the size which doesn’t happen very often. Breakfast also great choice. The highlight for us though was the badgers. Had a lovely walk round the lake and up to the caves will definitely recommend and plan to return.

I’m really stretching here but shower head could be adjustable to accommodate taller people.

Doesn’t get much better than this classic country pub/hotel in the Lakes District. Super friendly staff, helpful and great food. Perfect place to stay if in this part of the UK

Only downside was the price of the evening meal. Two chicken curries and two pints of lemonade came in at close to £45. Rather steep.

The location of Badger Bar is ideal as a starting place for a range of local walks to Wainwrights and sights (Loughrigg Fell and Rydal Cave). It's really easy to walk down into Ambleside from here also, great when it's so hard to guarantee a parking space in town. The staff were lovely. Property clean.

I absolutely loves this place, it was better than I expected, they had real log fires in every room. Staff were friendly and done their upmost. The place was clean and a chilled out atmosphere. We were lucky enough to see areal bager have his supper. I will be staying here again soon.

Lovely old building with many period features. I particularly enjoyed the nearby badger watching opportunities - a really unique local feature. Absolutely glorious location on the edge of Rydal Water. ps great vegetarian breakfast!

Wi-fi signal was weak occasionally . Over bath shower was low pressure and had a very small shower head .

Great location , ideal base for walking . Plenty of on-site parking . Great breakfasts. Very old building which made it charming & quirky . Our room , Windermere , looked out onto beautiful woodland and was very quiet . And there are badgers !!!!
