Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt would have been good to have a welcome manual with some tips for the local area & local walks. V small thing is that it would have been nice to have mugs for tea rather than cups & salt, pepper & oil to cook with.
Views from the patio & hottub were brilliant. We were lucky to get great weather. Location next to all of Glencoe's highlights was also great. Every room being en suite made the stay very easy. Supply of logs & basic toiletries was great.

United KingdomToo many insects and midges but that is not their fault. At one time it was impossible to stay in the tub because of the insects :(
The property is beautiful and has stunning views. We loved the hot tub and the spaciousness of the property and it’s gardens. It had everything to make our stay wonderful. The main hotel with the pool is a few minutes drive up but it’s worth it.

United KingdomCottage could do with a refresh, it’s comfortable but quite tired looking. Radiators need bleeding!! Whole cottage was woken up at 6 every morning with a loud tapping in several of the radiators… not exactly what you want when you’re there to rewind. Garden isn’t enclosed and with 2 dogs it meant we had to be outside whenever they were, not ideal.

United KingdomBring everything you need to eat! There was no sugar, salt, ketchup or any other food stapes. The cupboards were bare. The kitchen is getting a bit tired and the cooker makes lots of noise but works great. The smoke alarm is SUPER sensitive so careful with toast if you are first up. The chalet is on a road so if you have very young children be aware of that. Also the loch doesn't have a beach as such and it is not easy access over the boulders. The heating is not that easy to work out but you can switch it onto auto and set the thermostat. Plumbing is very noisy flushing the loo at night. All the spotlights are rubbish - the main room is perpetually dark even with the lights on. If this sounds like a long list of gripes it isn't. It's a lovely clean cottage in a great location and if the weather is awful there is plenty of space for a family.
The location is fantastic. Loch Linnhe is just across the road in front of the house and at the back there is instant access to trails to bike and walk. It is a big chalet with 3 en suite bathrooms so for a family of 4 it is very nice. The curtains are all black out which is great for the the 3am sun coming up in the summer. The hot tub is nice and was cleaned and checked most days by a member of hotel staff. The chalet is about 2 miles from the local services (CO-OP supermarket, pub etc) in one direction and about 1.5 miles from the hotel where you collect the keys. There is a house next door but the chalet feels very private and it has a large garden which my kids loved. When you sit on the swings all you see is lochs and mountains. I'd stay here again for sure - the location is brilliant. 25 minutes to Fort William (M&S food hall) and less than an hour to Oban if you want nice food. Glencoe visitor centre is 5 miles up the road.

United KingdomDoors on the fire wouldn’t shut properly so couldn’t get the fire to stay lit. Radiators in one room wouldn’t work. Kitchen appliances and cooker nice and clean but have seen better days. The bungalow felt like it had been closed up for some time and could do with some serious TLC.
Great location if you’re looking for somewhere near the mountains and the loch. Beautiful views, especially as the hills were covered in snow! Plenty of off road parking, lovely and quiet and it comes with access to the nearby hotel pool. Plus it has a hot tub!
