Could do with a freezer compartment in the fridge. Bathroom in the extension is a bit chilly

Apartment is in a quirky part of Whitby, a bit like Brighton's Kemp Town. Ground-floor flat is big and airy, comfortable and clean, with easy key retrieval and drop-off. Lovely firm big bed, no passing late-night revellers! Well located for the short walk down into the town or turn left for the cliff walk overlooking the beach, which is beautiful.

Street parking is not always available. Fire doors with self closers on every internal door is a big pain.

Nice and light living/dining/kitchen. Washing machine. Short walk downhill into town but still in a quiet area. Resident's parking permit.

The heating didn’t work nor did the towel rail in the bathroom work. I didn’t like how you had to go through the bedroom to get to the kitchen.

We were surprised having booked to be asked to pay either damage insurance of £25 or handover a deposit of £250 which would be returned 7 days after we left minus an administration charge of £10. This should be made part of the up front booking rather than being sent out after the booking had been made. It increases the price and makes price comparisons on booking.com incorrect.

Spacious living and dining area and the large window makes this room feel light and spacious. The bedroom and bathroom are less spacious but serve their purpose. The apartment was well cleaned prior to our arrival and the keysafe by the front door worked well.

Our bedroom was downstairs in the apartment and was a little stuffy/warm as we were unable to open the window. There was no plug point next to the dresser to use the hairdryer so had to improvise and use it upstairs in the living room which had better ventilation with the windows open. Also slightly disappointed with the free parking offered with the booking as there was no availability at time of check-in within the W zones. This was a bit frustrating initially having to drive around trying to find a spot nearby so we had to use pay and display for some of the duration of our stay.

The fact that the bedroom was downstairs and the parking was the biggest problem. Also the deposit. Service charge and insurance were way too high!!!!

Disappointed that the washing machine/drier wasn't working. Washing machine okay but no heat with the drier. I believe you were aware of this problem before we arrived but we were not pre-warned. Apparently no extra towels were available either!!! If we had known, we would have brought our own from home.

The location was very good - only a short walk to town centre. Apartment was well furnished, comfortable and clean. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Had to be patient/lucky to find a parking space, but once you are in, no need to use the car as the location so good. First stay where I've been expected to strip the beds and bag the bedding and empty bins and dispose of rubbish in the property's wheelie bins outside. Probably reflected in the good price, and I'm sure was covered in the 'staying with us' agreement.

Amazing location for the town and the Pavilion. Lots of space in the shared areas. Very clean. The Online guide and it;s recommendations of what to do/where to eat in the area.

The bathroom & bedroom are on the small side. Also be aware on a busy weekend or main holiday season the building can be quite noisy. We had very noisy (1am) neighbours in apartment 3.

46 stairs to carry your luggage up. Shower room extra small. Wasn’t happy about the compulsory Insurance you had to buy when I am already insured.

Carpets need a good shampoo , white socks turn Brown, water heater in bathroom poor, Central heating thermostat not very good. 4pm check in too late, hard to get parked near the room at that time 3pm would be better, 10am check out too early 11am would be better, hefty damage deposit but understandable. Non returnable damage waiver con to up the price of stay.
