The description said sofa bed but we couldn't find out how to pull it out to make a second bed . Needs a rubber mat in the shower as very slippy. Needs a sieve or cullendar for rice or pasta. Wanted to play with grandchild on the lawn but was full of dog poo. Bathroom sliding door not private.

There is still some work to be finished externally but it didn’t look like it would be much longer until that is done.

Lovely, modern accommodation with good facilities. Good to be able to park so close. Nice walks on the doorstep, so the dog was happy too! Owners were on holiday but were contactable for any queries.

It is not in Blackrod but in Adlington. Huyton Road is split into two parts. My Sat Nav (Google maps) took me to Huyton Road leading to Huyton Terrace. This is not the right road! You need Huyton Road off the A6 (Market Street) in Adlington and drive through an industrial estate until the end of the road. The postcode is the same for both roads. Maybe I missed some driving directions communication from the host but it added 40 minutes to our journey making us arrive frazzled and hungry. I perhaps should have called the host. I am sorry to say that the drains smelt bad, outside where we were sitting in the evening there was an open drain but also the sink in the bathroom was smelly too. The loo is right next to sink, so you can't help but breathe it in. The outside seating is overlooking the carpark. Access to the Internet needs a connection to EE mobile phone services so we could get internet on our phones but not the laptop that I needed for work. The TV had no antenna so you couldn't watch live TV on Freeview, and since the it needs an connection to EE there was no other services on the TV (Netflix, prime etc). We eventually managed to connect to a different WIFI setup that was on the TV but it was not saved as a default. The host is onsite so I should have asked for help. The security light came on several times in the night which was incredibly bright, like daylight. It still made the bedroom very bright even though there were blinds on the window. A blackout curtain may be helpful for us light sleepers.

It was a lovely recently renovated self catering cabin, with everything you need for an overnight stay. Bed is comfy and bathroom is clean with fluffy towels. The fridge is quiet, kitchen is well equipped and there tea, coffee, sugar and milk were provided. Once you drive through the industrial estate you do get to a secluded location which is part of Croft Fisheries, surrounded by trees, walks and fishing lakes. We arrived later than expected as we couldn't find the place so got a take away from Adlington Spice which was good. We walked around in the evening looking at the fishing lakes, and fields. The Railway is quite close by but it is quiet and trains don't run overnight. There is a Co-op in Adlington, and a Tesco express.

Very minor issue was that the sliding bathroom door was not completely private if someone was in the bedroom.

We absolutely loved the location, next to the ponds and visiting the chickens. Lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Host was very friendly and approachable. We were all very relaxed here before we headed to Manchester airport which was only 45 mins away and this felt like a little mini holiday before our trip.

My only criticism would be a lack of proper bedside lights and a lose fitting sliding bathroom door

Goldie’s Retreat is a little gem 💎 Such a cute, little place! We went for a little birthday celebration and couldn’t fault the place at all. Cosy, comfy and perfect for a little getaway. Defo has that home from home feel to it. We had some lovely long scenic walks. It’s very close to the shops, pubs etc. We will defo be returning in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

En suite lavatory isn't all that private... Sliding door doesn't seal, so you might want pals to wander off or turn the telly up. But it's fine. We didn't get prior interactions for arrival: make sure you do, because finding this place in the dark is a challenge.

It was absolutely freezing, heater in the bedroom took a while to warm up. But the lounge just never got warm. I was working so really needed the Internet, & it just wasn't a good signal.. TV won't work either without WiFi.. No little lights in the bed, main light or sit in darkness.. This was in previous comments so thought it may have already been taken on board. Its such a beautiful little summer house, it's a shame these things let it down.. Yes it does tell you after booking it's mobile WiFi, but knowing this doesn't work, it seems pointless to offer it. Or advertise that it is provided.

Absolutely spotless.. So clean, really well presented. Able to park right outside was a bonus. Communication excellent, plus really good guidance to find the property. Unsure why the kettle was in a cupboard, took a while to find it, 🤭 plus you need to keep a watch as the lid pops up as its boiling..

our only constructive criticism, was for dog friendly the garden wasn’t secure, however wouldn’t put us off Staying again, and works still being done outside so hopefully will be secured in the future
