Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe booked an evening meal and although the food was excellent, the prices were high for a pub meal. Would really suggest looking at the prices because it was the only downside of our stay. Charlene, the Manager and her girls were a delight and nothing was too much trouble
The breakfast was excellent and great choice

Fabulous place. Lovely welcome. All meals brilliant and served quickly. Extra touches such as proper linen napkins and breakfast sausage for the dog make it exceptional. The room in the old barn was fantastic.

United KingdomThere's nothing to dislike about the Halfway Bridge.
The room was quaint, and comfortable. The staff were kind, and very knowledgeable about the area, and the Halfway Bridge. Of particular note was the bar and restaurant. The food and service were both superb.

United KingdomThe only downfall, would be the uncomfortable mattress! Bearable for one nights stay on it. Springs constantly pinging.
Had wanted to stay in a shepherds hut - so pleased we chose this one!! The attention to detail inside was amazing, not only was it a beautiful cosy interior, but it had everything that you would want or need for in such a compact space! We had dinner and breakfast at the Halfway Bridge Inn - friendly staff & food was superb. The location is stunning with great access to footpath trails.

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay here, had a few drinks in the bar at the open fireplace after a walk and it was nice to be away from busy family lives and reconnect as friends. I cannot knock this property and recommend everyone to consider it. I would say the only minor negative were some of the prices of basic drinks like tea.
The property is in an ideal location with ample parking. The Inn is separate from the rooms which are situated at the back, away from the street / pub / restaurant. The rooms are second to none, I was lucky and got upgraded to the largest room (Room 3) but even the smaller rooms, where my friends stayed, were lovely. The finishing touches are great, with coffee, hot chocolate, tea available, as well as fresh milk in the fridge. The beds are amazing with very comfortable mattresses. You cannot hear any noises except for the noises of nature. We saw bats resting on the walls in the evening, and pheasants running around the property in the morning. The food in the restaurant was really good, the burger was a proper burger and there was no need to get extra sides. The breakfast in the morning was great, we all had something different and asking for extras came at no extra cost.

SwitzerlandOur room was beautiful: spacious, quiet, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is in the adjacent pub, with several options ranging from pancakes to full english, in a lovely and cosy setting. We came by car (good parking available on site), which I would recommend doing as the taxi services in this area are very limited and hard to book. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I wish we could have stayed there longer. Would definitely recommend!

United KingdomBedrooms have been recently refurbished and were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Mark was a great host, greeting us on arrival and chatting in the bar. Dinner and breakfast were excellent - a great menu selection and excellent food. I stayed here 20 years ago and I thought it was good then but it’s even better now! Will be back.

United KingdomFor the size of the room (which was great) it would have been good to have had a larger bed although nothing wrong comfort-wise. Evening meals at the pub were a little rich for our taste but all beautifully presented and good.
Set in a lovely rural location with pub just across the country lane for breakfast and dinners. Very friendly staff, excellent choice of breakfast. Delightful cosy atmospheric room with very good facilities. Access to footpath directly from room and our friends who took their dogs were extremely well accommodated and looked after.

United KingdomThe only downside was the cost for dinner, this was £50 per head for 2 courses and 1 drink. Normally at the price of the 1 night stay @ £157.50 (the evening meal is included).
The place was welcoming and had a nice atmosphere. There were two fires blazing in the pub with comfortable seating arrangements. The bedrooms were converted stables or outhouses with high ceilings and beams, ours had a thick wood panel which was nice to look at and the room had a warm cosy feel, it was decorated to a high standard with plenty of space, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to a high standard and this room had a wood burner inside a large fireplace which made the room feel warm and as we were not in a hurry to go out into the chilly day, we had a leisurely time. Our stay was enjoyable and we would go back again, the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.
