Pillows were very hard, so poor nights sleep. Now fridge or safe in the room. EV charging problems.

First morning breakfast was good, second morning, no fruit and cold poached egg and toast. Disappointing. .

The only thing we don’t like was that our room had a frosted window that looked into some kind of redundant yard. The room felt very dark and claustrophobic because of this. We felt £160 for this type of room was not value for money. A lesser charge and notification of room position would’ve avoided our disappointment.

I was surprised to find the cooked breakfast required extra payment on top of a B&B rate that I had already paid. The cooked breakfast wasn’t anything special either so I thought the extra cost was quite cheeky.

I chose this hotel mainly for its location.

All good except for other guests who were noisy after midnight having a heated argument in the corridor. Turned out they were US army personnel. They need to be more mindful of other guests.

Great room, internet, breakfast, etc but worth you avoiding little toiletries in plastic wrapping - all adds to single use throwaways. Is there a local maker worth partnering with who uses more sustainable packaging?

Reception area is a little non descript, we arrive when there was a full blown wedding going on and thought we had walked into the wrong area. The key cards for some reason didnt work, we must’ve had 4 attempts at changing them .

Room, very clean, breakfast was excellent, service a little slow. Dinner was very good although for some reason my food did not arrive and by the time I got it everyone else had eaten, I was offered a free drink to compensate, but feel that my meal should’ve been free. I only ordered the chicken with salad. When it did arrive it looked like a plate of grated carrots!!!

Booked rose petals and chocolates on arrival, was charged for this when I arrived but had not been done. Chocolates were then sent to the room that looked like there were leftover from someone else plate. Room was freezing, had to ask twice for someone to come look at it. In the end was left with little electric radiator. Bar, evening meal and breakfast, staff seemed over run and not enough capacity to manage volume of guests. Evening meal was cold food on hot plates, had to request service each time.

When arriving at spa there were no robes available, even though there was barely anyone in the actual spa. They did offer to get some from our room, we said not to worry but when we got to our room we didn’t have any there anyway so had none for the next day in spa either. I think if paying for a ‘room with spa access’ you should be able to use the spa for the duration of your stay not just a few hours. For the price paid I think more breakfast variety could be available without having to pay extra.

Decor and presentation were beautiful, staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful surroundings/views. Very relaxed atmosphere.

The bad smell of the reception-bar area is not really nice. Our room and the whole building had a bit of refurbishment definitely, but it is a really outdated building. The extra bed provided to our daughter was horrible ,bless her, unfortunately she couldn't sleep Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it . The staff was nice . It wasn't worth taking any memorable photos at all.

WiFi didn't work. Some aspects of pricing feel a bit mean- having a surcharge for a full English feels penny pinching, better to add the £5 onto the room? Spa access restricted according to room rate, we would have enjoyed a morning swim before we checked out but had already used our hours access!

Lovely pool, great meal and comfortable quiet room. Staff attentive and communal areas nicely furnished and spacious. Nice rural setting and attractive parkland around it. Easy to get to Gloucester or Cheltenham, and the fabulous Nature in Art round the corner too.

The reception staff didn’t seem particularly happy or that helpful, not sure if they have been customer service trained. The reception area is a bit of a nothing, we weren’t even sure it was reception. The area from the back carpark to the front down the side, needed some pavement work doing, it was hazardous.

I liked the restaurant, bar and area between these, it was smart and comfortable, especially the area with the log burner. The lady in the bar during the day and late afternoon of the 14th was really friendly and helpful.
