Everything! The room was immaculate, super cozy bed and beautiful decoration. The breakfast was 10/10. The location was perfect to visit other areas from there. Amanda and Mark went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible. They gave us ideas for our daily walks and the best locations to visit. Amanda would bake cookies or a cake every afternoon and my husband and i would sit in the common sitting room with a cup of tea and read a book while having a slice of cake. They realised we liked going there in the evenings and started lighting the fire in the room so we were more cozy and warm. They were the loveliest hosts we have come across! Would 1000% recommend this B&B

1. Location Ideal base to plan trips around the lakes. Many accessible walks around the property which you can get to by foot, without needing to drive out. The town centre is easily accessible by foot as well. Many great food spots. Surrounding locations (e.g. Windermere, Grasmere, Buttermere etc.) are a reasonable distance away and you could make a day trip out. 2. Rooms Room and bathroom are both pristine - kudos to the staff! The bed mattress was of good quality - essential after long days out hiking. 3. Breakfast I would honestly stay just for the amazing breakfasts prepared by our hosts. Amanda is a nutritionist and the care and effort that goes into her cooking (to name a few: eggs sourced locally, bacon specifically sourced to be prepared without nitrates, sausages made specially by the butcher, homemade granola) truly pays off. We were well-fed and watered, and I think she'd be happy to know that her breakfasts gave us all the fuel we needed until the evening. 4. Hosts Many thanks to our wonderful hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. Gave great recommendations for food and day trips out. Overall: I simply cannot recommend Haven Cottage enough! This is an outstanding B&B, and deserves all the recognition it can get.

Many thanks to Amanda and Mark for a lovely stay at Haven Cottage. It’s very well located and my room was fabulous. Breakfast was delicious and I was made to feel right at home. The fresh Victoria sponge helped! We hop to be back soon!

There was nothing not to like.

Great location. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection. Late afternoon freshly baked cake/biscuits was a lovely touch, not to mention very tasty too! Amand and Mark were the perfect hosts; we would stay there again and would strongly recommend.

The hosts were delightful, the room was beautifully decorated and stocked well. It was spotless and clearly very well looked after. The hosts were beyond helpful and friendly. The breakfast was gorgeous, fresh produce and locally sourced and cooked to perfection. Flawless.

The location was excellent, only a ten minute walk into Ambleside centre with lots of places to eat and have a drink. A bus stop outside the cottage was very hand too where you could get the bus into windermere. The room was very clean and tidy, and the breakfast very love Amanda and the staff were very nice and friendly and welcoming. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable. I will definitely book again

A lovely warm welcome on arrival, for what was a truly relaxing and perfect couple of days away. From the homemade treats on arrival, to the Bath House toiletries for use in the ensuite, and the attention to detail throughout the property, made Haven Cottage somewhere I would definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

Beautifully decorated guesthouse within walking distance of some great hikes, shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs of Ambleside. Amanda and Mark were very welcoming and gave me some great walking routes to follow. The room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and everything needed for a lovely short stay of two nights. The breakfast choice and quality was excellent. I enjoyed learning some new nutrition tips from Amanda too, she is extremely knowledgeable as a qualified Nutritionist which I found very interesting. Looking forward to revisiting again. Would highly recommend!

Nothing at all.....

An excellent 2 night stay over for the Xmas light switch on in Ambleside. We've never been to Haven Cottage before, this after several visits to the surrounding area, but I think it's fair to say we've now found our go to place. Amanda & Mark couldn't do enough for us, the location is perfect, room was beautiful and topped off by an excellent breakfast. Can't wait for our next 4 night stay over in July 2024.
