The staff were very welcoming & friendly. The building & decor had an ld world charm and was dog friendly. The room and bed were lovely & comfortable. I also appreciated that the free & spacious parking was conveniently located. Its location made it a suitable stop over on route from Isle of Wight to Cornwall which would have been an arduous drive in one hit.

The bedroom radiator was on full blast and didn't respond to being turned off - so the room was too hot for my taste. I had to have the window open to cool the room down (in February). However better too hot than too cold! The TV had a strange selection of channels, but not obvious access to main terrestrial channels e.g. BBC1 the wifi was a bit weak and intermittent.

Large, clean, comfortable room and bed. Kettle and tea/coffee in the room. Nice restaurant downstairs with a good selection of meals. Food very good, well prepared and tasty. Full range of breakfast options. Very hard working proprietor who seemed to be doing everything on his own. Very convenient location.

The bathroom is perfectly useable but could probably do with updating, but this didn't affect our stay.

Very large room with huge comfy bed ! Lovely breakfast with a good selection of choices. Friendly staff and host. Great pub with excellent lunchtime and evening food. Good location for exploring south Devon.

An annoying boastful guest full of herself. The staff coped with her attitude problem very well at breakfast time when she picky about everything.

The bedrooms are a bit tired but I know the new management are going to be working on that soon. The bed was comfortable and lovely fresh bedding and towels.

The pub has a great atmosphere and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. I felt very comfortable as a female staying there on my own. All I had for my dinner was a prawn cocktail, as i wasn't very hungry. However, I have to say it was beautifully presented and the best I have ever eaten, perfect! I didn't have breakfast but from what I could see it looked a very good selection.

Really lovely proper country pub. Basic but comfortable room with excellent breakfast - great value. We ate at the pub both nights of our stay and the food was great quality and very good service. Will visit again.

The bed in the 4 poster room was very uncomfortable , but the manager told me that they would be updating the room very soon, but I would suggest that a new mattress would be a good idea pretty soon. Apparently this room is the only one that hasn’t had a complete refurbish, all of the other rooms have brand new beds and have been completely refurbished.

Very friendly staff, surprisingly good food from the specials menu for dinner, Nice bar atmosphere, and really enjoyed breakfast.
