Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The cottage was spotless clean and designed beautifully with every detail thought through. The bed was really comfortable, the views amazing and we loved the farm animals. Could not fault our stay! We had a wonderful time. Thank you to the hosts who were lovely and welcoming.

United KingdomNothing we didn't like.
We loved the Couples Retreat in Devon. Georgina & David were lovely and made us very welcome. The cottage was fantastic, clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed ...well, stocked kitchen with condiments, tea, coffee, spices, etc. Shower gel, etc, in the bathroom, which was immaculate. Lovely super king-sized bed. Patio with furniture and sun loungers. Right down to little touches of fresh flowers & chocolates. Perfect for a couple wanting some peace & quiet away from the real world. We will most definitely be returning and recommending to our friends & family.

This place is outstanding !!! Brilliant location in the country. Quiet, very clean and maintained to a high level. Everything you would even need for a short holiday plus more. The host has really put a lot of effort into making it feel like a home away from home and were friendly and helpful when we met. Thanks so much

United KingdomWe don’t having any negatives for the house at all. If I were to niggle about anything it would be the rough surface of lane leading to the cottage, it was very bumpy, but wouldn’t put us off staying again.
The cottage was really well equipped and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. The location was ideal for us and we were able to visit many places with easy access to the A30. The views from the cottage were great and the cat from next door became our friend for the week!

United KingdomBeware rough track leading to cottage - be careful if you have low suspension.
Beautiful immaculate cottage with a wonderful setting in quiet spot with views over Dartmoor. Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely to be able to sit on secluded terrace and enjoy the sunshine. Fittings to a very high standard. We spent some time just chilling, but also managed some lovely walks nearby. Recommended Dartmoor Inn provided a fabulous lunch after climbing Widgery Cross. Having a car charger was also a bonus.

United Kingdom... nothing!
The cottage was so warm and welcoming and located in a very peaceful spot. Beautiful views too. Whilst it was not warm enough to sit outside, there are plenty of super spots to do so. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The bed is extremely comfortable; always welcome after a day out walking and sightseeing. The hosts are fantastic, very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent communication. Highly recommend a visit!

United KingdomGreat location, very central for visiting the coast and also Dartmoor. The cottage is in a lovely, quiet rural location and is very well equipped and is spotlessly clean. The bed is really comfortable and we both slept really well. Georgina and David are great hosts, and we were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely visit again 🙂

United KingdomEverything! Georgina and David are super hosts, very friendly and they have gone to a lot of effort to make this cottage perfect with great attention to detail. The cottage is very cosy, and very peaceful surroundings. We had our dog with us and there was a small paddock we could use to let her have a run and do her business in the morning which was super handy rather than having to go and hunt for grass!

We wanted for nothing! Georgia and David have worked so hard. The cottage has been lovingly restored. Excellent super king-size bed provided perfect relaxation. There are no shortcuts anywhere. Wonderfully peaceful, great access to A30 (5 mins) gives you instant access to Cornwall., and Devon. We had a wonderful time, and so did Bella, our spaniel. Great value. Will return!
