Bed very uncomfortable, room decor extremely dated.: walls an awful shade of sludge brown Not what I would expect from a so-called spa hotel! Particularly shocked, given the cost of the rooms, to discover that there is a charge for guests for using the pool. Room was also very noisy, with guests running round in the corridor and shouting in the early hours.

Staff were friendly and helpful and the foyer area always welcoming, but everything else was pretty disappointing, to be honest.

My room - stank of stale cigarette smoke - such a musty off putting smell! Outside window area was littered with fag ends and empty pop bottles. I complained to reception and they just apologised but offered nothing to remedy the situation. Felt they really could not be bothered, after all I was a booking.com client and had booked a cheaper option! I've experienced better customer service from Travelodge staff! Room was right at the end of a long corridor and clearly in need of serious refurbishment. The shower, however was great! The absence of free wifi is not really acceptable for 21 century work! Having to work in the public area for confidential on line work is really not on. Paid wifi far too expensive in this place.

Location was convenient to my work and main bar and restaurant area was comfortable.

The bathroom was a bit grimey. I expected a bit more for the star rating. Food at the bar was not the best. Very fried and not much to choose from. Old corks and wrappers in our room, which were from previous guests.

Was located close to the hospital which was our sole reason for being down there a few days. Bed was comfortable. Rooms warm.

It was very noisy on our first night of stay, someone keep knocking our door 5 o clock at then 6 o clock night/ early morning.Bedrooms and On suite bathroom needs updating.WiFi wasn’t free in the bedrooms . Should be free.

The bathroom wasn’t good as the door was in the wrong place! Big people have difficulty getting in to be able to close the door!

The wi-fi in the room which cost £7 is not worth doing as it does not work, it is free in reception but I wanted to work till late in the night from my room. I had the same issue the time before but hoped it had been sorted. The tv was on when I entered the room but the control didn't work. The fridge was very noisy so I turned it off. The hotel receptionist was friendly and efficient.

The hotel is a great price and if you need to get a good sleep with a place to park your car then it is good.

Had problem with the parking situation I booked in for two nights but received a parking fine for the second night. Disputed this with the parking people but they refused appeal my explanation and I am still due to pay a fine. The hotel are trying to help out

Evening meal not particulary cheap . Breakfast was very average, not cheap £12.95. Nobody in restaurant for breakfast, suggests it wasn't good. When I asked if there were any gluten free cereals, the waitress said they all were. I questioned it she came back and said none were. I requested gluten free toast and she provided gluten free bread, suggested putting in the toaster. Being coeliac alergy , I asked if could toast separately which she did. Perhaps allergy training needed.

The spa, sauna swimming pool were good. Check in easy. The room was quiet and spacious. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable. Evening meal was good .

I hardly slept, mattress was comfy & I would have slept well had it not been for the VERY noisy bed frame. So creaky it was awful. Biggest gripe I have is the parking charge on top of the cost for room. £5 to park your car in the hotel car park is shocking. If you attend an event there you park for free if you put in your registration. But if you pay for a room you have to pay even more to park your car. The carpark is not even secure. I was also a little put off by the abrupt email I received after I confirmed my booking, warning me what may happen if I am found to have been smoking in the room. This is rude.

Food was lovely & a great price with really helpful friendly staff. Room was nice & clean (although very hot) Tea & coffee. Overall a decent place.

Not enough pillows. Springy mattress.

Staff friendly. Hotel very nice clean and tidy. Very spacious rooms . Bed was uncomfortable and springy. only one pillow each we barely slept due to being uncomfortable apart from that everything else was fine. Plenty of towels to use in the room. Plenty of soap tea coffee. We arrived late so didn’t manage to use spa so can’t comment on those facilities But hotel is warm and very clean. Also was quiet during the night.

Outside facilties require updating. Parking fee for residents is disappointing. IT systems at reception are very slow. Tea bags in room are tasteless.

Stayed at this property in November everything was spot on rooms was very good this time a different room and it was in need of redevelopment the bathroom wallpaper was coming off paint was all busted up and the bed was very uncomfortable to was off the wall aswell
