The food is honestly rubbish, i ordered for curry and rice but honestly is the worst food I have seen. Few cubes of chicken and handful of rice not worth it! I started staying in the hotel for 25 years!!

We were only using the room to stay over one night after a social event so basically we slept there for 7 hours. It was excellent location wise as we were getting an early train the next morning. However, I feel the price for 2 people was excessively high.

Room was a good size and nice but there was an awful smell which didn’t go away. Smelt like cats urine really not pleasant. Breakfast wasn’t great hot food was cold.

The room lighting was pretty weak, with just a few lamps dotted around in the main area (no ceiling light). I was working on my laptop a lot and it strained my eyes somewhat. Not much to gain from opening the curtains, being London and all.. There were coffee and tea facilities but not a single biscuit in sight!

The location is perfect, right in front of Paddington station. 3 mins walk to the railway station (for Heathrow Express etc.). The tube station is directly opposite the hotel. The decor seems a bit dated and could do with some updating in my opinion - though I suppose they honour the historical aspects of the building. All the staff I spoke to were super nice, friendly and helpful. The shower got warm instantly and the water pressure was very good. Good sized room and very comfy bed. Check out at 12.

We had a fire alarm and nobody told us for around 3 hours what was happening while we were waiting outside in the cold. Old hotel and lots of construction around

Only thing to watch is that I was on a 0625hrs flight - and the Paddington Express doesn't start until 0510hrs, not leaving enough time for check-in. The Elizabeth Line starts at 0436hrs, though it leaves from a normal platform and not from the Tube which is closed at that time. There was no staff at Paddington and was quite chaotic with confusion as to where the train was leaving from. Not the hotel's fault at all - though I chose the hotel because of its ease of access to Heathrow, which didn't prove to be true!

My flight was cancelled at short notice so needed to stay overnight - booked via Booking.com, pretty good price for late booking central London and hotel was exactly what I needed.

There was a really bad smell of damp on arrival in the room, I assumed it was just because it hadn't been used for a while. I was only there one night but unfortunately what I failed to notice until I was packing my bags to leave was an active leak which meant the carpet in the corner was soaked. I told the staff as I was leaving and they were apologetic.

Staff were super lovely - could not have been more helpful from check-in to check-out.

The breakfast chef wouldnt make me fresh scrambled eggs. The pre-cooked scrambled egg had been in the tray for so long it was solid and overcooked. When i asked him to just make me a 3 egg scrambled egg fresh he wouldnt do it. When he forced me to take the overcooked scrambled eggs i did not enjoy it.
